Default Asus Bios Flash? - 09-04-2004, 15:45 | posts: 72

This is probably a stupid question put here goes anyway. Ok, so you have to have a .rom file to flash the bios. Asus only has .ami files for download? What am I supposed to do with .ami files since I need .rom files to update the bios? Thanks!

read on their site about how to update the bios. It tells you to rename the file, as in your case: p4p800s.ROM.

I just want to throw this out there. The new Asus PCI-E MB BIOS can be updated from within Windows...pretty cool!

Yep, many of ASUS's mobo's can be updated from within windows using ASUS update, including my crappy P4P800S, (reason I call it crappy is because it only has 2 DIMM slots and no dual channel RAM support). Either way, I'm never buying an ASUS product again. Half of their websites are usualy not working, and when you try to download a file off some of them, it'll tell you to go to a different ASUS site since their download server is not working, pathetic.

I noticed that too. I was looking @ their latest chipset avaviable for my board that was listed as a newer version but after downloading and looking @ the Read Me File it was the same version I already have.
