Anyone Agree. Heretic 3 with SoF2 Game Engine -

i wonder why raven set this great title aside. i mean blade match on a 56k with heretic 2 was just to fun.
Like Castle Wofenstien, and doom, to name a couple. heretic and heretic 2 based on the quake 2 game engine were so popular.
Maybe even a heretic 3 on the doom 3 engine, that would be righteous!

anybody here who remembers shadow warrior? I think that was one of the first FPS games I played...that would be great with enw graphics...we could make a mod...I'm pretty decent at modeling (...I'm not really serious about that mod thing.....coz it wouldn't work in the end anyways....but would be cool)

Duke Nukem 3D was out about a year before Shadow Warrior [However, SW uses a newer version of Build compared to Duke3D].
However, they were a few of the first FPS games not to use an id game engine.

I used to play all those classics like Heretic, Heretic 2, Hexen 1&2, Wolfenstein3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood, Doom, MDK and that stuff. I really liked Heretic, both of em, and it would definitely rock if there would be a Heretic 3! I'd image something a bit like Painkiller or something, come to think of it, the Painkiller engine might be good for it. Or they might make it on the Doom3 engine. Lets just hope there will be a part 3 of this great game.

A new version of Hexen on the Doom 3 engine or something would be sweet also.

Should be good to have a semi-tactical/realism game on the Doom 3 engine.
Much MP fun.

ok, so what can we do pound raven with emails? about a heretic 3???
cause really man that game was just to fun and the quake 3 engine even would make the game very nice, the thing is still in use. picture ghoul lighting effects and heretic, like they used in sof and sof2. it would work....
although the ideal engine would be doom3. since were all spoiled now...

Look up the law suit that they lost. Essentially they stole the engine. Some additional research will show that Sof3(Payback) was so different for this reason as well. Agreed that it is an amazing engine( and believe it or not, there are still A LOT of clans and people playing it online) EV!L Inc@rn@te for example has virtually 24/7365 traffic)
