Default problems after uninstalling norton av 2004 - 08-17-2004, 07:39 | posts: 389 | Location: New York

Hello, my friend had norton antivirus 2004 and he uninstalled it and I installed f-secure antivirus... problem is for example, I want to install startup control center, or run fsupdate.exe.. and an error will come up saying something to the effect of "-- 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem <path> <file name>. An installable Virtual Device Driver failed DLL initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. Choices are Close or Ignore... and that file and folder does not exist and there is no way around it... it even does it when i am in safe mode, and I need to run these programs and I can't do it... can someone help me out???

Sounds like you need a registry fixer.
This is a good one, probably the best yet:
