Sorry if there is a common post as mine.
Hey i have 2 thing i want to ask about.

1.In November 2013 I brought a R9280X-DC2-3GD5 from Asus, And I am happy the card. No problem and no issue! :D And the Cooler system is the DirectCU-II. It is the quiets Gcard I had until now :).

I had started to use the software there are made from Asus, “Asus GPU Tweak”, it work fine, and with custom fan speed it is cooling fine.

With default setting, well Asus say R9280X-DC2-3GD5 card have this setting as Default:

    GPU Boost-clock : 1000 MHz
    GPU Base-clock : 850 MHz

    6000 MHz ( 1500 MHz GDDR5 ).

    Well mine is 1000Mhz standard.
Fan speed is 25% and get higher if the temp get higher.
And with 25% fan speed, I have 46-48*c on the card. ¨

Is that temp high on that card?
I am confused from google, so many comments with so many numbers. So I thought there, must be some pro O.C. people on this forum there can tell me the real facts.

2.So as second thing is, My gcard R9280X-DC2-3GD5 is the cheapest of the 4 model: Top-button.

    MATRIX-R9280X-P-3GD5
    GPU Boost-clock : 1100 MHz
    GPU Base-clock : 950 MHz
    6400 MHz ( 1600 MHz GDDR5 )

    R9280X-DC2T-3GD5
    GPU Boost-clock : 1070 MHz
    GPU Base-clock : 970 MHz

    MATRIX-R9280X-3GD5
    GPU Boost-clock : 1000 MHz
    GPU Base-clock : 850 MHz
    6000 MHz ( 1500 MHz GDDR5 )
    R9280X-DC2-3GD5
    GPU Boost-clock : 1000 MHz
    GPU Base-clock : 850 MHz
    6000 MHz ( 1500 MHz GDDR5 )

I have the : R9280X-DC2-3GD5, it is the same cooler as R9280X-DC2T-3GD5.
I had O.C used the default stats from R9280X-DC2T-3GD5.
And fan speed is like 25-6%, still no sound :) but is it no 3-5 degrees higher. 47-52max.
Is used the stats to Asus GPU Tweak config from the website, there is some screenshot and a guide.

The Degrees is ok? What is normal for r9 280x? And do I damage the card core? Or short the life time because I don’t cool it enough?

And by the way on the Link above the do go for 1250MHz for a little bit, before it froze. At 1230MHz GPU / 6.6ghz memo 1.3v. But I have done that yet, because i am afraid it get to hot and i Damage it or short the life time too fast.

But I tried the default the stats from MATRIX-R9280X-P-3GD5
    GPU Boost-clock : 1100 MHz
    6400 MHz ( 1600 MHz GDDR5 )
And speed 27-30% and 48-52 degrees, it is worth / does is it damage card or short the life time of the card too much? I Know all O.C. short the life time some way or other but with oke cooling you well not short it that much.
But what should I do? Stats can I go for Asus /AMD Radeon DirectCU-II R9280X-DC2-3GD5? And what temps is normal? Is my numbers too high? And Can I O.C. without short the life time? And if I do how much do I short it with :)? Because with 1ghz I have 85-90fps and with 1.1ghz I have 90-110fps. The Fps is from World of Warcraft – Boss fight - Siegecrafter Blackfuse HC 25man. A lot of fire laser and Bomb plus 25 people moving + adds we need to dps. :)

The core's maximum is ok until something like 85C. Keep it maximum in the 70's and you'll be fine.
