    So getting that urge again

    I gona get

6700k (6600k is 269 at microcenter so fiqure 6700k will be about same price as 4790k which is 289$)
    Crucial ballistic sport 16gb ddr4 2400mhz ram 119$
ASRock Z170 Pro4 $129 (less i can find Asus/MSI equivalent spec wise for about same price)

Must have intel nic, realtek audio i really cant aviod less I get dedicated soundcard which really isnt a priority to me in anyway.

All going into a Fractal design Define S. 89$

SSD and PSU and GPU all gona be pulled out of my current build

Any suggestions? worthy upgrade? and no I not OCing it point of getting stock 4ghz cpu.

Now if intel is gona release non enthusiast 6 core 12thread i7 that is 4ghz stock any time soon that dont need one those enthusiast MB that use tri/quad channel ram i might wait.

Nope no 6core, that is and will be for LGA2011 only..

Imo should be a nice upgrade, especially by raw core performance.

yah those LGA2011 boards cost way to much. I sure should be in raw performance, I am also sure even that 6700k wont hold 60fps at all times in Swtor(that engine is horrid). everything else i have it should eat threw like it butter.

Yeah this would be a very good upgrade. You will get so many new benefits such as USB 3.1, mSATA, DDR4 RAM and any other benefits that come with the new Z170 chipset.

was the whole reason i was waiting I Wanted a system with DDR4 ram, and i wasnt going the lga2011 enthustant board root again, THis x58 build was and is still a nightmare in regards to ram disappearing . to this day i still cant change ram out for more cause it just disappears.

Damn that sucks that you were having trouble with RAM disappearing. Plus you can go beyond 6gb of RAM without having issues this time around.

yah alot people had issue with disappear ram on these evga x58 boards, some were lucky to fix it others not so much, i tried 4 different times upgrading from 6gbs to 12gb each time ram disappeared was different brands each time too. this isnt counting the 3 set and then rma of a ram set before i got work set that played nice with the board.

G Skill, crucial, corsair mind you it wasnt the cheap sets either.

That's why I went with Skylake for my rebuild instead of Devil's Canyon

I had an i7 2600K clocked to 4.5ghz with HT enabled. Now I'm running an i5 6600K at stock clocks. For some things I do, this 6600K is faster at 3.9ghz than my 2600K was at 4.5ghz, for other things, it's a bit slower. I just haven't had time to mess around with overclocking yet.

    Looks good.

The cheapest MSI Z170 card I know is the MSI Z170A PC MATE (no SLI support).

Man this reminds me of a problem that I had with an old Pentium1 Rhino 5 board where the parallel port under the OS kept disappearing and any time that I wanted to print I had to restart my computer at the time.

I can deal with realtek audio cause pretty much in every MoBo for onboard sound and despite the whole 5 years of bad realtek audio drivers cause this system to hardlock freeze with HW accleration in the likes of FF/java/flash.

But I can get wont have realtek nic, Intel Nic this time If i could actual find MB with intel nic and SB core audio for about same price would be better

I pretty much buying this all from Microcenter near me less I can find from newegg/tigerdirect for less shipped. which is rare, 2.5% sales take from microcenter is great.

You've had that much bad luck with onboard audio? Sorry to hear about that. I used to have some problems on my old Gigabyte mobo so I went and bought an Asus Xonar DX but instead got driver problems with Win8 at that time.

not with the audio quality, i see nothing wrong with it, It was realteks audio drivers that were the problem

id do it, nice upgrade over the 920 that you have to skylake, and i have a define s and i really like it. IMO you will be fine with asrock board, i dont think it will really matter. and if you dont benefit from i7 hyperthreading you could save a few bucks and go with the i5. and the ram you could also get a slower kit if you dont need the extra speed, high speed ram only really benefits certain workloads anyway.
