Hey guys, i have a MSI Z77A-GD55 http://msi.com/product/motherboard/support/Z77AGD55.html I'm having problems with Enhanced Turbo and the latest bios version (its not working anymore). I would like to know if i can downgrade my bios to an older one if im using the latest ME firmware, i have the latest v1.11 with these fixes: - Update M-Flash module. - Update ME firmware to v.8.1.50.1456. - Improved memory compatibility. To this one: v1.8 - Update CPU Micro Code. - Enhanced PCI-E display card performance. - Improved memory compatibility. I know that is possible to damage my motherboard doing any kind of flashing to my bios. But my question is, can i downgrade my bios if i already have the latest ME Firmware? or are both linked when flashing?. Thanks.
Its IME FW should remain the same. I flashed mine once with 9.1 IME for Broadwell and it worked, but it was a bit buggy by blck, so when I flashed to older bios it still showed 9.1, I had to use usb flashback to get back older 9.0 IME.
I got a response from a MSI forum moderator: "when flashing BIOS , use BIOS+ME Update" My bios has an option to flash both so i think i wont need to use usb flashback, i never tried this before though. I had an Asus mobo before this one and it just was Bios downgrade.
No what I meant was it won't revert.. For it to revert to older you need "bruteforce flashback" feature to make it happen.
