I can't believe my eyes are working: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...40015532360&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MESE:IT&rd=1 COOL!!!!
There is also an amazingly written article about 3Dfx and this card being benchmarked here: http://www.sudhian.com/index.php?/articles/show/3dfx_voodoo_5_6000_review/ Those were the days....
Dude that is not a thing to compare. It will lag in performance even lower than a 6600, and it also doesn't support pixel shaders. Its like having an antique car that you love. It will be worse in performance or safety than a top of the line recent car, but it can very well worth a lot more than the new car.
It doesn't make sense to buy this, when it can not play any modern game at all. The money would be better spent on a modern day quad gpu or crossfire system.
Ya, the high price of the Voodoo5 6000 is due to there being only about a hundred or so in the World rather than it's performance.
Apparently all of you that think that the money would be better spent on a newer GPU, you're wrong. Things like this will only go UP in price throughout the years, you grab this for $800 in 06, what do you think something this rare is going to be worth in 2010? 2015? While someone may think of this as a collector's piece, this would also be an investment.
Actually, this is one of only three to be known to exist and one of the other two is not longer in working condition. 3Dfx destroyed the engineering samples and the only ones that were left were the ones that had gone out to magazines and web sites. I can imagine that there are more of these sitting in people's attics.
Indeed its very special but, i would prefer to buy a real classic stuff.maybe a paint (i dont think that there is 700 $ classic paint ) I cant put this in to my saloon
Guy i work for has one of these. Ive seen them go for over a few grand believe it or not. They were (and still are technically) a beast. There is more than 3 of those...definately because ive seen a few sell already. They were for review and preview mainly. Referance models in early stages. Never made the store shelves. About the time they were about to 3dfx went under. I really doubt a geforce 2 would be better than that card btw....
