Default 3DMark11 question - 07-28-2012, 11:59 | posts: 154 | Location: Australia

I ran 3Dmark 11 and got about P7440.
CPU was 3.84ghz.
I bumped it up to 3.96 and got P5775.

The physics score and the combined score dropped dramatically.
I reset the BIOS to default as well as tried CPU at 3.84gz again, but the Pscore wont change from the low result.
Anybody got an idea what has happened?

Mik ............

No. The heat is acceptable. About 38dC for CPU and 70dC for Vcard.
I know what the prob is now.
My CPU was only using 2 cores. Did some checking and re seating and the CPU only uses 1 core now.
It seems to be a major problem with AMD cpu's. I googled and found that some users get past the problem and others have to RMA. I think I have to RMA. One OP said he enabled core unlocking on his Asus mobo and got his missing core back.
I tried that but it didn't work. I thought there would be a new line in the BIOS to enable cores or something, but there isn't anything new.

edit: I flashed the 1301 BIOS and that worked. i now have 4 cores.
