I have about twenty apps on my smart tv but I rarely use em....

    Besides Netflix they're pretty useless

I understand what he's saying. His motherboard as crapped out on him, and he's using his TV to post the message.

Since no doubt he will buy a reasonably high end motherboard, it would actually make sense to upgrade, he should go for a Z97 board and i5-4690K CPU ;). No point spending so much money on an outdated motherboard when he can do an upgrade for the cost of the CPU (minus what he can get for his i5-3570K) extra. It would only be the cost of the CPU (minus the i5-3570K sale) because he needs the motherboard anyway.

    why get a 780 when you have 2 760's in SLI ????

Wouldnt a single 780 be a downgrade in GPU power ?

go my ftw in for step up, looking to go 780 /760 setup.
with my two 760s i tried batman and ac4 with different card configurations and having a dedicated one seemed the way to go for me.(i imagine 780 /760 will be rad for ac5 and batman DK)
totally miss my rig, i reALLY SHOULD GET replacement mobo first but gonna try use a window of opportunity to step-up a card. and then get a z77 to tide me by for now.
the devils canyon needs delidded to take full advantage and i just can't be ased doin it again.
but sure, now into week two on smart only, using borrowed lappy now, i have one but has an iffy screen, the note3 should be here soon so that will give me full internets again.
once i'm online with pc i'll detail my smart tv experience, it'll be another two weeks or so until new mobo, luckily no games arriving soon.
    really miss em all though.

Using now note 3 as main Internet.
Bought nice android vid player for screen mirroring.
Works really well better than when I first tried.
Evga have given me seven days to pay for the 780.
    Decisions decisions ..
Use smart TV for YouTube still but like I mentioned user input is horrendous with touch remote alone.

around 3 weeks my pc was down.
I was smart tv alone for around two weeks, then had a nice phablet the last week also.

What I got from smart tv:

    youtube app was good
    got access to my email
could surf the web but no downloading only streaming
    ---
I could have survived the full three weeks on it sure but you really miss mouse and keyboard, that is the worst thing, having a touch remote has put me off completely the steam controller (at least in it's design we seen).
when I got the phablet it let me test again screen mirroring and it's doable, works better when device is plugged in but image quality is good.
was a good time to get off the pc as the world cup was on and I enjoy the big competitions like that.
I'm sure smart tv will be improved upon, i'm really lucky to have this, it's got built in hd freeview so it's really something and I've an external hooked up to it.
if i'd to go another week or so without pc and have choice between phablet and tv i'd go tv easily, but tv and phablet rocks, .. somewhat.
i'd recommend a smart tv, or rather I wouldn't disadvise against one, pretty handy imo.
