Primocache is setting your system ram as cache. If system crashes all your work that day will be history. It offers huge numbers only on paper.
You could use something like intel smart response but I am not sure if it can work off a partition rather than its own sdd. Maybe a tiny cheap ssd would be a good option? No it doesn't only do that. Did you ever use the program yourself? If you did you know you are actually able to use a SSD as a cache disk. See this? Here's my old ssd caching 2 hd's. No system memory is used.
Intel's Smart Response Tech has no option (unless implemented within the last week) to use a partition. You can set the size of the cache drive up to 60GB though. A dedicated drive will provide a better experience than a drive that's pulling double duty. I used Intel's Smart Response Tech up until about a week ago. I prefer it to running an SSD as a system drive. It's not suitable for everyone though.
