Platform: PC, Xbox 360, PS3 Developer / Publisher: Raven Software / Activision Release date: 26 June 2009 (EUROPE) Official site: http://www.singularity-game.com/ In Singularity you will fight your way through an ever-shifting environment haunted with time ravaged creatures, while sudden time waves hurl you back and forth between 1950 and present day. Use your wits and the perfect weapon - the Time Manipulation Device - to unravel the conspiracy on the remote island of Katorga-12. In the dark Cold War winter of 1949-50, Stalin, the brutal leader of the Soviet Union, had two super weapons... long range missiles and the atomic bomb. But even if his teams of forced labourers managed to build a missile powerful enough powerful enough to carry an atomic payload, Stalin still faced encirclement by the United States and its Strategic Air Command. He knew that he needed another advantage over the United States, one that would insure Soviet security and superiority. Element 99 bacame the new source of Stalin's hope: a new energy source of unparalleled power. Unfortunately, the new element also yielded a new king of contamination risk. But these were acceptable risks to Stalin - anything for the advancement of the Soviet People. On Sept 21, 1950, driven to complete the project, and in violation of all safety protocols, a Russian scientist Barisov, personally triggered a device powered by E99 that caused a catastrophic event that affected the entire island. What happened next was unclear. However there are reports of Stalin's final dying order was a a hand-written scrawl to quarantine Katorga-12. And so the knowledge of the island remained buried. ...until 2010 - when intelligence reports in the west confirm activity on a remote atoll in the Russian Federation's shadow. Trailer Screenshots
I saw the screenshots and didn't think it looked anything special, but then I watched the trailer and it actually looks like an original idea for an fps. With any luck it'll have a good storyline too.
Indeed the trailer looks good i mean throwing people round with powers and burning them to mere bones whats not to love
nice idea, if the graphics are at least decent and the gameplay just right then i'll be more than happy, if it turns out even better then i except then great.
Looks alright from the trailer, reminds of some other game that had a glove that you could throw stuff with (or something like that), and also the gravity gun from HL2 which you could sorta do the same with.
know ign had a preview look at this a few months back, the time device was cool, but the amount of objects you can use it on is limited, tho they mentioned that the time effects were hella cool.
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/59461 Delayed to 2010, gives room for Modern Warfare 2 apparently. (Guess both titles would see a bit of impact on sales if they were released close to each other or something like that.)
So they delayed it 6 whole months... that's crazy. Maybe it will be more polished as a result though.
Think yer thinkin of dark sector. Which I actually felt was a pretty solid game. Have been eyeing this game for a while though.. looking forward to giving it a go
