I bought Real Flight Deluxe application (remote controlled airplanes simulator) for my husband for Christmas and wouldn't you know it, my dam compaq won't load it. I assume I need updated drivers. I have a 2 wk old presario 5868 w/AMD k7 600 mhz. My old PC (150 mhz w/who knows what kind of video card) loads it just fine but it's been sold. So, I've ckd w/Compaq's forum - nothing; searched voodoo3 and haven't found what I need. Anybody got any ideas? I get a msg from Norton Crash Guard that setup.icd is being terminated. When I close all background apps, it crashes my PC. What is the .icd extension?
I just found this and from what I've read it looks like I may get my answer. It's now 3:30 am and I've been here for almost 5 hours - HELP!
Thanks!!
That sounds familiar. When i worked at 3DFX last we had several flight sim companies (who made RC plane sims) who could not seem to develop compatible software and blamed the video card drivers for the problems. All i can recommend is be sure you have the latest CERTIFIED drivers for the V3 as they will require it. Otherwise there may be nothing you CAN do if the software company will not support you on this. It is more than likely an issue with the program if you have everything setup right/latest Certified drivers/latest motherboard drivers and bios/no shared IRQ's/etc.
try the mikepedo 1.1 drivers... you can download them at falconfly.de... the best site for 3dfx drivers... the site is english too compared to www.3dfxzone.it
