Hi, I am planning on buying this, but I am not sure if it actually is a 100Hz Display Panel as it says in the specs?

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tv-video/sony-50-127cm-full-high-definition-smart-led-tv-kdl50w700b-dsau-ge4018

It says its refresh rate is 100Hz. Does this mean if I plug it into my videocard, I get an equivalent of a 100Hz monitor?

This TV will predominantly be used for movies/series viewing, but it would be great if it actually is a 100Hz 50 Inch Panel. Does anyone know anything about this?

No, mines was advertised as the same thing, it's interpolated for 50hz tv signals. Actual HDMI input would max out at 60hz.

Are there any TV's that actually do over 60Hz when plugged into the PC? Any at all?

Having said that, since you do own one, have you plugged it and used it for gaming on PC? and how is it different to other 60Hz monitors? is the response time horrible? (aka input lag is a lot higher than monitors? slightly higher? barely noticeable?).

A 3d tv I think would do it, see here

I use mines as my laptop monitor yeah, and i've used it for so long I wouldn't know the difference, I know mines tests pretty well with input lag but it does have a certain degree of motion smear on black, you'd honestly be best just checking out an in depth review if you can.

i ever read somewhere that all those TV refresh rate is different than PC display
if not its no brainer to just get 3D TV and use is for display rather than buying real PC display

    like this one http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/tv-av/tv/uhd/UA78JU7500KXXS
    the spec said
    Clear Motion Rate 1,000
    Motion Refresh Rate 200 Hz

regarding clear motion rate : http://www.samsung.com/global/article/articleDetailView.do?atcl_id=32

that 200hz!? while on PC display there only few releasing 144hz recently

also afaik TV have high input lag
