I found about this by using DriverGenius when I had my Maximus V (2014) and I also was able to install it when I had my Gigabyte board. (2015)
Now, I have this new board and I also was able to install it.
    I was using a 2010 driver.
I remember about the Windows update catalog and I found it there.

Here is the direct link to the CAB for Windows 7/8/8.1/10 x64

    (Use IE for this)

Here is the Windows Update catalog page, with all the versions of this.
    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=watchdog

This has ONLY the drivers for manual install.

If you want a installer, here is the Intel one with the newer driver.

    What this do?
Well, I certainly don't know, BUT, I noticed reduced DPC latency.
    So, try and coment!

i don't like progs such as ,driver genius - i prefer to look myself . And have you noticed its a tick box world, already done for you? The boxes you wouldn't tick .

There is so much going on now, many prog not needed. Bloatware, on pc;s if you buy say from PCworld .... Over the last 10 years I have kept my setup's to a minimal as I can. Example , do I need a backup prog? Win 7 and 10 are good enough.

I have repaired many a pc for others, still do, and when i see the progs they have and ask what they use, i start grinning, ' err whats that for they ask '

Not saying in your case - just saying for others if this is something they can relate to :D

One thing is program which lies peacefully on the disk till you invoke it. And another thing is program which has components launching at startup.
As for your example - backup program - I don`t install one, instead I use bootable DVD disk with disk manager capable to backup/restore/copy/create/delete/move/resize/convert partitions.
Saying that user doesn`t need backup program at all is pretty naive. Users do mistakes, OS code has bugs, disks became broken, etc. And if OS and apps could be re-installed, user`s photos, documents, and all sort of data could not.
