Was editing some photos, it played the USB disconnect sound and stopped working completely, no laser or anything

Tried the R.A.T in another machine, dead

Bought a new mouse, works fine in the same USB ports

Is there anything inside the mouse that possibly could be fixed or is she dead?

Have you checked if the cable is okay? If it's broken, it's probably so somewhere close to the mouse. Try to wriggle and twist it gently. Of course it could also be bad soldering inside the mouse. Bad components seem less likely since it did work for a while and the current inside a mouse is so minuscule it wouldn't degrade anything.

If you can track down the problem, it could be possible to fix. Depending on the problem it could be hard, though, and not necessarily worth the trouble.

Yea thanks I checked the cable, that was my first guess too, I think something inside has fried tbh, just an instant disconnect and complete loss of power

PC doesn't even know it's been connected now

Might dismantle it at some point, see if anything obvious has happened, those RAT mice have a lot of parts and screws though lol

The RATs must be the most problematic mice I've seen on the internet.

    they are
but its like owning a luxury sports car that is always in the repair shop
its hard to go back to a normal mouse after owning a Rat
the aiming button on the thumb is so awesome and being able to adjust the width to fit your hand just makes sense.

Yea I miss my RAT, took it to bits and could see nothing physically wrong with it so she's dead

Gonna get another one though, definitely not as nice going back to a normal mouse shape after a RAT, felt like it fit my hand perfectly, and I keep missing clicks on things now while I get used to this new mouse (RAZER ABYSSUS 2014)

You can have my old R.A.T. 5 for €15 and shipping :) It's 9 months old and in perfect condition.

Damn it, keep quiet! ;) Nah, it's just lying around the place doing nothing but gathering dust. I'll gadly help a Guru if needed. I'm quite content with the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum so I will never need again as a fall back.

Didn't even know anyone had replied here :D

Thanks for the offer, I'm OK with my Razer atm, I`ll no doubt buy something better in time

Would probably cost close to a new mouse with shipping anyway :)

Came back here to check what date I had made the thread after Razer Synapse asked me to register for warranty

Dumb thing won't register it anyway for some reason
