Can you knife people? & Can you switch your weapon from shoulder to shoulder?

It sucks coming up to a right corner and not being able to switch shoulders, its the only thing that the Call of Duty series got right.

This game looks stunning but I personally do not like the current business model of selling spaceships and skins effectively as microtransactions hence why I have not bought it yet. I am definitely interested in it for the single player experience though so I will continue to wait until it is finished and released as a full package.

Approaching the time the finaly Persistent Universe goes live they will permanently cease general sale of ships for $ and people will have to earn them in game.
    - Knowing CIG my personal feeling is they will possibly run Special Limited Ship sales on special occasions. They may not even do that though, we will see.

I believe we will be able to repaint (base colour(combos?)) our ships in game for no RL $ spend, but ship skins are a whole bunch of extra work for CIG who make them cross compatible with most ships. Personally I don't mind paying a little for ship skins to help support the game once it gets going properly.

I think they will keep things fair. When people complained about the elitist price of $5 each on decorative "Posters" for our hangars they listened and slashed the price.

But we are not buying we are pledging the game :p well until they wanted 250 for a long range fighter oh the fights.

We shall see atm technically you can purchase the game cheaper than retail the fly now packages are nice spelling that out better for people.

But this new fighter is either way off base from what people were expecting or the coke and hooker habit has gotten out of control at cig :p. friday will tell better when they actually announce stats on it.

Atm polls are not looking well for vanguard many that wanted it will not buy it at that price point, 300 dollars with vat, or people will melt and shuffle their pledges around, reedeemer be the main candidate its over priced, unflyable and the same price as the vanguard nice 1 to 1 melt if your an redeemer owner and the ship is not a total bomb stats wise.

They would be wise to rethink this next sale, they probably will not and get about half the profits they would have if they had priced it in the 150 to 200 area.

With the fps module comming soon then the social module it is not a horrible time to buy into the game though, you will need to get extra pass for the fps moduel i think unless you have an alpha package.

I've pretty Curious about the Vanguard partly because of it's price even.

See WildAce's post 803 above - Ben seems to think it really is priced right for what it is.

Id does sound an awful lot for a base? model fighter compared to something like the "Iconic" Constellation and priced above what I paid for my Retaliator! Does seem it is going to be having to pull some serious magic tricks to justify the price

But like I said, all very Curious :)

Oh i am to, but alot less so, i could swing it 190ish plus melt my avenger i not happy with anyway. But i doubt i would feel great about it.

So will wait till friday and see, but it would have to be a hellaciously useful and well rounded ship. Otherwise the avenger melt might just go towards an aurora ln and greycat.

Have a 7c i might melt but it has my alpha access locked into it. So pretty much stuck there less i want to buy an ac pass after melting.

customer support can move your alpha access, at least they do for concierge members, my alpha access is sitting in one of my AMD omega packages.

i had CS move it around like 3x before i told them it would be best to just stick it in an omega package so i was never tempted to melt a package that had it since the omega's have 0 melt value.

Tho the F7C is so damn good with a ball turret and canard.

the canard and the ball turret put out as much firepower as the Mustang delta, that is before even considering it also has 2x size 3 fixed for the wings or size 2 gimbal.

I see myself spending some more money on this again soon. I owe some guys some from a while back (they're going to get a nice surprise as going to add a little extra for them) + am going to look at swapping some of my packages / ships about.

Can we still do that cross chassis upgrades I've heard about to keep LTI ?

Yes you can still CCU, but only to ships that are actually flyable in AC. and you keep lti and everything that was in the package it only replaces the ship in the package.

When ever a ship becomes flyable it will be added to the CCU list as an option.

Just remember there is likely not a direct CCU path to the ship you want you have to take steps.

like to take an Avenger to a Gladius, you have to CCU the Avenger into a 315p, then upgrade the 315p to a 325A then CCU the 325a into a gladius.

And for the most part it costs the same as if you had originally just gotten the Gladius instead of the Avenger.

I grabbed a super hornet after the fact, 2 year insurance beta access but no alpha, but thanks might look into that for the 7c if i really want the vanguard. atm all the 7c does is i rip guns off it. Think i am vice admiral donations wise so might be worth a try.

Thanks for the tips WildAce :)

Finally feels like I am getting back into things. Have had a pretty busy year or so with a lot to get sorted in life and with my house - I'd been Really messed around by my local council etc long story etc and some people that are now out of my life.

Looking forward to having a proper play soon now ^^

oh if you already have the super hornet as well then yeah, i would get rid of the 7c and just move the alpha over to the super if it is a game package version.

as the super is just a superior F7c, does everything the F7c can do but has a larger power plant and optional second seat.

Yea put a question into support see what they say.

Will move it over to my super if they let me.

Then have 2 ships i can melt for it too attached to the gladius to melt that loving that ship.

Hinges on how attractive it is for escort duties for my constellation vs a hornet/gladius. more fuel stops but the vanguard is not a long range vessel compared to the connie. so be stopping frequently or will have to hire a small tanker escorts etc to really do anything serious.

Refueling via gas giants ought to ease things when they are mapped out in deep space etc but the early days refueling escorts might be a huge pita.

And at 250 the vanguard other than being 2 person vs 5 why not a 2nd aqulia or etc connie partner? double the firepower, 2 snub fighters yea you better be making some good runs to cover your costs but +3 people over a connie/vanguard team, not really that huge a deal.

I almost think these little snub fighters will be far far more useful than we can imagine atm when it comes to stuff like this and the options they open up.

Reminds me of the F14, one of my all time favorite interception craft.

It's standard fuel capacity is just 100km shy of the FA18 hornet as well as being less maneuverable.

EDIT: Just thought I'd add this... :nerd:

I am picturing it balance wise handling like a 747 having the armor of 2 super hornets. being slower than the hornet and a good many other ships.

starting off with s2 and 3 guns that will be balanced down to s1 and 2s after they sold as many as they can. :p.

for me i am leaning toward picking one up in the pu. price idea that its going to fly like a pig does not appeal, did not enjoy the cutlass at all, the features and gear better be omg let me grab my wallet good to change that atm.

and durrr how about them dropping that constellation was ging to be flyable soon??!! not having to wait till 2.0? will be able to take it into free flight??!! is my rover done??!!!!!

The front scoop intakes on it kills the stealth vibe they were shooting for though would need intakes or grillwork over the big round saucer like fans.

like the shorter photoshop verison one guy did make it lookk way sexier imo.
