Modded Drivers for ATI Legacy Devices?

I'm talking about the actual old legacy cards that you don't even hear about these days (Xpress 200M, etc.), not the Radeon HD 2xxx-4xxx stuff :) Pretty much, these:

I'm looking for any modded drivers that offer more than the latest Catalyst package for these drivers (10.2). I believe DNA-ATI (something like that) used to make a modded driver, but their website has no traces of drivers :/

Omega is the only other name I can recall. His drivers used to be hosted at *****. What are you hoping to achieve from a newer package?

I stream flash content from my computer and hardware-accelerated flash seems to cause a TDR every so often. Just wanted to try out some other driver(s) and see if it still happened before just going to software-accelerated flash.

Omega was actually Nvidia but ***** has some modded ATI sets. I'm sure you know which site it is, Unwinder used to live there....

Not too sure :/ Can't think of any sites that have a 5-character name atm.

Why is this name blocking thing even implemented... :bang:

    Different reasons....depends on the site.

This one has to do with Unwinder and RivaTuner.

In a nutshell RivaTuner was hosted at xxxxx before Unwinder moved to Guru3D, xxxxx and Unwinder had a falling out and now he's here.

    Btw xxxxx is N G O H Q. ;)

    Good luck..

If I get time, could whip something up for ya over the weekend, need some info about your setup

Which card exactly do you need the driver for?
    What OS?
    Machine that it came with?

Well, I had a 9250 agp and the latest driver for it was released in 2006 (official. Omega drivers are ok). 9500 and up cards have vista drivers because they support pixel shader 2.0. That's all I know lol.

Guru 3D has some of those modded drivers available for download
    in their Driver Download Section.
You can follow the link below to see the available drivers.

    ATI Radeon Xpress 200M 13.5 Beta 2/Win8 64bit driver.

Here you go all done :), you should be getting some performance gains especially after upgrading from the good old 10.2's.

    Grab it from here http://hugefiles.net/y4nm7vw76zbi

Just follow these steps to install them:

    • Uninstall your previous drivers and Catalyst Control Center first.
    • Cleanup driver leftovers.
    • Disable Driver Signature enforcement(F8) when restarting windows.
    • Install using Setup.exe nomally.

Read InstallGuide.txt in the folder after extracting.

    Hope this helps.

    Enjoy!

Hmm, Catalyst didn't detect any display drivers to install, and manual install from Device Manager said something along the lines of "this driver doesn't support this version of Windows".

Hmm..interesting .... need your devID,that card has numerous variants. Will try a custom package for you this weekend:)
Was shooting in the dark with devs , Included a lot of devs for that card but ironically did not include the right one..bummer.
Its for Win8 64bit right? In Control panel did you try the install from this inf C8155949.inf,its in the W86A_INF folder? That's the Windows8 64 bit driver inf, if you used the C7155949.inf , it will give you that invalid OS message for sure since its meant for Windows 7.

I tried both inf's to no avail also :/ Can't wait to try out a custom package though :)

Yes I can see why, oddly that card's DevID is for a ATI Radeon Express 1150 card. Added your card to the installation, it should be fine now.

    Updated
    • Added Windows 7 32&64bit support.
    • Added Windows 8 32&64bit support.
    • Included DevId 5974 to the installation package.

Supported legacy ATI Radeon Xpress 200M DevId's in the driver:
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5974
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5975
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A62
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5854
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A61
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A41
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5954
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A43
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A63

Just follow these steps to install the driver:

    • Uninstall your previous drivers and Catalyst Control Center first.
    • Cleanup driver leftovers.
    • Disable Driver Signature enforcement(F8) when restarting windows.
    • Install using Setup.exe nomally.

Read InstallGuide.txt in the folder after extracting for more info.

    Installed without issue :)

So far, hardware-accelerated Flash seems to work nicely, but I'll keep monitoring it a bit longer for any TDR's.

    Thanks :)

Edit: As for my IGP name, I may of gotten it confused. I could of sworn it was labeled as a 200M at some point, but maybe it really is a 1150. Perhaps both IGP's use the same chip or drivers?

Nice!! Glad I could help out, im sure you are noticing all round performance gains, is the performance improvement what you expected?

Yeah, they are more or less the same card "1150".

    Hello,

i found this Thread while searching for a modded CCC. My Notebook uses a x1650. Till now, i only got the moddes 10.2 to run.

Maybe you could put my HardwareID also in the modded 13.5 Driver. That would be great.

I'm a little strapped with time right now, but if you need a new set drivers you can whip one up for yourself pretty quick and easily, I made a tool to help guys with that. FYI: You can use any driver set not only the 13.5 drivers.
http://digitalflem.mydiscussion.net There is a guide and a download link, if you have any questions just drop a post on that site or below.
Here is the thread that it is on currently on Guru3D http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=379516

    Enjoy!

    Hello,

many thanks for this great Tool. It works fine. You should promote this Tool much more. I never heard about this. Till now the only Tool for this task was the Mobility Modder. This Modding Tool only worked till CCC 10.2.

Again, thanks for this great Tool.
