I would say that it's crucial to pair any AMD CPU with an Nvidia GPU, for CPU overhead reasons. As for Intel with AMD GPU, I would say it is as common as pairing it with NVidia GPU.
I usually recommend a NVIDIA GPU for a system with a AMD processor (FX or older) they perform much better on DX11 due to driver optimization +1
my wife's PC is an AMD FX 8350 with 2x msi gtx 570 twin frozr III my sons PC is an AMD FX 8300 with a msi gtx 570 twin frozr II and my PC is a intel 2600K with 2x XFX RX 480 but only 1 is working due to a bad PCIe slot I think they only way to answer this is to post a poll on what people are running but i don't think it matters what you pare things up with
Pretty much common. People who gaming on 60fps going for cheap CPUs, so they end up with AMD. GPU wise its just preference. In community, AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU is the most hatred combination. Someone mentioned it as "divorce, she took kids" kind of combination. Here's average combination rating: 1) Intel CPU + Nvidia GPU (Instant respect in 1337 PCbuild communities) 2) Intel CPU + AMD GPU 3) AMD CPU + AMD GPU 4) AMD CPU + Nvidia GPU 5) AMD APU + AMD GPU 6) AMD APU + Nvidia GPU
Ditch those 570s in your wifes and sons rigs and buy them 480s like you done for yourself. Sorry to digress .
