He meant a single 680 will run any game, including crysis 3 albeit with **** fps. 2 680s or a 690 isn't enough for crysis 3 at 60fps. Cards are too slow

For 99% of the games it should be fine.

To get more than 60FPS in 2560x1600 in Crysis 3 at max settings you need 3x GTX Titans !.
http://hothardware.com/Reviews/GeFor...sis-3/?page=12

This doesn't look good for the GeForce GTX 780's if they are supposed to be a bit slower than GTX Titan. Will it play Crysis 3 = no !.

From some of the statements from nVidia that been up to the release of GTX Titan.

If the GTX 780 will be faster than the GTX Titan, then it can only mean two things. Either it will be helluva lot more expensive than GTX Titan or GTX Titan will before release of GTX 780 fall to a price point below £370.
I don't see either happen. Therefore my hypothesis is that the GTX 780 is around 20-25% faster than the GTX 680 which earlier reports told, and that is not enough to be faster than GTX Titan !.

I hope I'm wrong... but else I really don' see the purpose of having GTX Titan on the market for more than a couple of months and then terminate production.

I'm currently running on a single 680, and while I only do 1080p gaming, I've been debating getting a second 680 for SLI.

I've been told since I'm running at a 1080P resolution it would be a waste for me to get a second card. Only thing that would really benefit is far cry 3, crysis 3, and now tomb raider. Just trying to future proof my setup for now.

700 series are now rumored for Q4 2013, so I'll get some more use out of this now.

I'm guessing by your profile that you took the plunge

I'm doing the same with my 670 - I can't max out recent titles at 1080p anymore with just 1 That and I want to get a 27" 2560x1440 monitor sometime soon - although then I'm worried that 2 670s aren't going to be enough!

How the hell did you fit two GTX680 and a Xonar DX in the first place?

Checking my mother board layout, the two cards will eat up the three lower placed PCI-E 1x and the top PCI-E 1x slot (above the first card) is probably not enough room for the card. That or my monster Thermalright Silver arrow will be in the way.

If your goal is 1440p @ 120Hz vsync, then yes one more 680 could get you there? Or you could sell your two 680s and sound card, spend some extra money and get 2x titans.

If you are on 1080p then 2 680s is overkill unless you are using more than 2 panels or 3D Vision. I have 2 680s running at 1440p on an 85Hz- 120Hz capable panel and 2 680s is not enough to run 85Hz vsync constant with BF3 MP ultra settings @ 4x, MSAA etc.

I've been looking at pictures of my mobo all day at work but unfortunately it seems like I'll have to ditch my Xonar :< I'll confirm this when I get home from work. It simply wont fit due to my CPU cooler :'(
