    top man, now using the software :) it updates the firmware first then repairs the drive sweet.

    Firmware update goes right to 15% and then just sits there.

    It won't work with AMD SATA controller drivers (this is written in manual). This happened for me too. Rolled back to standard MS drivers (few reboots though) and only then updated firmware. Then I've installed AMD drivers again (they have fresh ones dated 29-09-2014 on AMD site).

    Here is mine driver that was a cause of flashing incapability:

    Success, my average reads went from 160 MB/s to 190 MB/s on HD Tach (just Sata II). No dips in the graph.
