Hey all, I'm having this irritating problem with my new build with the z97i plus from asus. It's hooked to my plasma tv, when i'm using the built in gfx from the i5 cpu there's no problem. However when I install a r9 290 gpu ( I tried both a reference asus model and the sapphire 290 tri-x oc model) the screen recognizes the input, it switches to 1080p on the tv but the screen stays black with both gpu's , even when it's booting :/ Both amd cards work on my other msi z97 gaming 3 mobo without a problem... I have tried a 8800gtx gpu and a hd 4850 in the same slot on the mobo and then there is no problem... (even with installed ccc for the 4850 it does nothing) I flashed the latest bios drivers I set pcie first in bios Don't have a clue what to do next so... :/ It's a corsair 1000 watt psu asus z97i plus mobo i5 4690k 8gb ram Can it really be that the 290 isn't supported by the mobo? isn't on the list though Thanks in advance
Have you tried disabling the onboard GPU from the BIOS ? Is there a supplementary power socket on the board that is wanting a 4 pin Molex connected ?
Yes, tried that but doesn't work, though other cards than a 290 work just fine... And no don't think so :bang:
