I've got the 7950 folding again after a short break to let it cool and "relax".... It's almost ready to be retired now. I've got a GTX970 on order and it should be here in the next few days to replace the 7950. The 7950's PPD has bombed again. The current estimate is only 58K compared to it's previous 100-120K. I think it's a clock issue but I'm not really sure it's worth worrying about at this point.

You'll get around 300k from your 970. Which "flavour" did you pick? :nerd:

I was previously told 200-250K, which is fine. More is always better though.

I got an MSI GTX970 GAMING 4G. It got installed lastnight and is going through a short "break in" period before I send it off to fold. It's an impressive looking card. Seems to be well assembled. Hoping I won't have to change the cooler any time soon.

    Nice one Sykozis! :)
    Enjoy!

We are up +1 to rank 45!

Team PPD is on the rise.

My 970 is only getting 70K PPD... Rather disappointing.

I am also getting ~80k ppd on certain projects, for example 7624, while 320k + on 9201 for instance. Any way to direct the gpu client away from these non optimal WU's for 900 series?

I've been stuck on 7624 WU's for the since Monday morning. I was pulling 260-290K up until then (except when the driver crashed trying to fold at 1512mhz Boost, then it was 10K until I figured out what happened). At least I'm not the only one getting low PPD from 7624. Makes me feel a little better.

This card is amazing though. It can run TL2 and F@H concurrently with no performance loss in either....lol

None that affect folding. I'm only using the pause flag so it doesn't start folding as soon as the F@H client is opened.

No flags here either. 9201 project gives 300k + PPD and projects 76xx give 60-90k.
CPU (5960x) is on bigadv due to 16 threads qualification, ranging 60k - 80k vs 50-60k normal.

Disabled my room heater and 5960x @ 3.7 all cores + gtx 980 keep me warm through this winter :micro:

I'm enjoying my 970 too. A lot PPD compared to my 7870

I had a bad coil whine on the last WU I had. I couldn't reproduce it with anything else including a game. Had to pause it a few times just to get a break. I just finally let it finish it and it stopped and hasn't done it on the new task. Any suggestions to prevent it or just let it finish?

Either let it go, or contact Zotac about it. It's not detrimental to the card.

My system locked up lastnight while folding and now F@H won't load so I'm down for the day.

Thanks, it's not that huge a deal. Just curious if anything could help it. I'm pretty tolerant with things, it would take a larger hardware issue than that to contact the manufacture.

Another annoying 80k ppd WU on project 7620, similar to 7624, when 92xx projects give 330k + ppd on the 980

I can't even get the F@H software to open now in Win8.x. I tried uninstall, reinstall but still won't open. Not sure what's going on. I can fold in W10, but PPD is down by almost 50%. Looks like actual point production is normal though.
