Hello! Super Pi is a nice test to check the performance of the processor! You can download it from: http://www.muropaketti.com/superpi/ (this site is in finnish, sorry!) But you can find superpi.exe (109kb) there! The score on 8M is: 8 minutes 51 seconds Pentium 4 520 2,8GHz @ 2940MHz 256mb DDR2 533MHz @ 560MHz It would be nice to have something to compare with and to se the difference between AMD and Intel!
8m: 6m 45 secs Here's a copy paste from my rec file: - Not calculated. [ 16K] - Not calculated. [ 32K] - Not calculated. [ 64K] - Not calculated. [ 128K] - Not calculated. [ 256K] - Not calculated. [ 512K] + 000h 00m 36s [ 1M] + 000h 01m 23s [ 2M] + 000h 03m 01s [ 4M] + 000h 06m 45s [ 8M] - Not calculated. [ 16M] - Not calculated. [ 32M]
That´s nice! The record in Finland is 4m 50secs! Pentium 4 3,4E @ 5157 MHz http://www.io-media.fi/temp/ln2_setup.jpg It would be fun to se if someone can beat it!
Ok, one said to me: That you need 33% higher clockfrequency on Pentium to get the same performance that AMD do! That seems to be true becouse I have exactly 33% higher clockfrequency then you, and we have almost the same time on Super Pi!
why r u guys doiing the 8 million test? do the 1million test first then the 8m if you want. 33 seconds for 1m, and others the fact is a lot of factors affect these times, some people run certain OS just to get better times. XP is not the best OS for superpi times. I think NT or 2000 is best, but not sure.
superpi does not support Hyperthreading, and intel chips suffer big time for this. some people can get it to work, but I saw a guy do 41 seconds(1m) with a P4EE @3.2 which obviously sucks. he tried turning off his HT from bios and the score was worse. AMD has advantage.
how is your memory running over 600mhz? I noticed it is DDR2, but that is really fast. Your FSB is 228...so are u using a divider for the mem to get that speed?
Nope, no dividers. Yesterday I turned off the DOT (Dynamic Overclock Technology), and clocked a bit more: Pentium 4 2,8GHz @ 3290MHz (14*235) DDR2 533MHz @ 626MHz 8M SuperPi: 7:32
They usually test with the 8M here in Finland. You should try the 8M test, the record with an AMD in Finland is 5:15, maybe you can beat it!
its my fsb i am telling ya! - Not calculated. [ 16K] - Not calculated. [ 32K] - Not calculated. [ 64K] - Not calculated. [ 128K] - Not calculated. [ 256K] - Not calculated. [ 512K] - Not calculated. [ 1M] - Not calculated. [ 2M] - Not calculated. [ 4M] + 000h 05m 52s [ 8M] - Not calculated. [ 16M] - Not calculated. [ 32M] amd owns you 4.5 ghz pent's at this! ( i know! maybe at this not much else !) AMD SCORES BEST PIe
