    Edit original bios.

Link your bios from a file upload website.

    Hi Guys,
Trying to mod the built in fan profile in my Evga 980 Ti Kingpin with Maxwell bios tweaker II and hitting a wall.
Changing the three power and rpm options doesn't yield noticeable changes in RPMs as I'm trying to get the
fans to work harder. At best I was able to increase the max rpm, change the boost and memory speeds. I lowered the temp limit hoping that might do something but can't tell. Anyone have experience with these high end custom cards?

    Thanks

If doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity I must be insane because I figured it out. I was saving the file to the wrong folder and reflashing the old unaltered rom over and over again. Made a few changes and now I believe it works as expected. I actually created two different roms because one gpu runs hotter than the other so the hot gpu will have a more aggressive profile. Heres what I've done:

I got stable 1500Mhz gpu clock on my Asus strix card,it crashed only with 1 game everything else runs butter smooth.I highly doubt my card could hit 1600 + with the modded bios,at least not on air.

I need to try this. My GTX 980 hits the limits on about 1500MHz.

MY GTX980 craps itself anywhere past 13,00MHz. Thats most likely down to it only having the FE cooler. But I have managed to adjust the fan speed with this app so that the fan ramps up to 70% when the GPU starts getting hot. The hotter my GPU gets now the faster the fan will run and its no longer locked to 50%.

iirc 1500MHz was pretty much where you got to with the 980s. 1550 if you got a good chip, no matter what BIOS, and colling ofc is always a topic.

MY Gtx980 will not go near 1500MHz. I had it @ 1466MHz for a short while but it was very unstable. I had to roll it back to stock clocks because games were locking up on me with any sort of overclock.

I made it to 1500 indeed, but the highest I read besides LN2 was around 1550 tbh. My goal back then for my overclock was 1500, didn't get there withouth unlocked BIOS, but stable 1480 on 2 SLI cards under water.

I've used unlocked bioses but I am missfortunate or I am doing something wrong because my GPU doesn't overclock very well.

Doesn't necessarily mean you're doing something wrong on your end, might as well mean your GPU isn't a champion in the silicone lottery. Also, the better the cooling the better the OC. Do you run under water? Because with air, iirc, it was quite hard to reach 1500MHz.
