Someone went over the recent AMD 15.3 driver and found R9 370 added. The bad news? Its a R9 270 rebrand. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2425450
AMD has stated that none of the 300 series will be rebrands. I think GPU/Z is just not reporting correctly.
http://*************/amd-r9-300-series-not-rebrands/ Don't what AMD has said about it directly but this seems to suggest that whether it's all speculation and the usual fud surrounding new releases no way of knowing.Edit I guess that site is a no no but you can find it easily enough.
This is closest to "no-rebrands": The sources with knowledge of AMD plans revealed to KitGuru that Computex has been targeted as the launch timeframe for AMD’s upcoming graphics adapters and a “full line up” was demanded from senior management and engineers. Instead of launching just one new graphics solution and a load of re-brands, AMD intends to roll-out a whole new range of graphics cards at Computex in early June. At present details about the lineup are not clear, but expect several all-new graphics solutions to be unveiled, whereas some re-branded products will likely show up in the following months. yet it does not really claim there will be no rebrands. Actually it says rebrands are very likely. Furthermore, you cant just wish and demand entire new lineup in the span of few months.
Not everyone understands how drivers are structured and how real device ID gets translated to name. There are two conversions, 1st serves for generic simplification and is linked to registry settings for given gpu. 2nd takes this simplified name and translates it into what you see as your card in display properties/device manager. There is only definitive proof for rebranding: "%AMD665F.1%" = ati2mtag_R505, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_665F&SUBSYS_0B041028&REV_81 "%AMD6811.1%" = ati2mtag_R575, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6811&SUBSYS_0B001028&REV_81 Bold text has to be present in older driver. Did you find it there? This can and likely is early simplified way to allow driver installation for those cards since they will be compatible with given settings set. Having lines like: AMD665F.1 = "AMD Radeon R9 360" AMD6811.1 = "AMD Radeon R9 370" Tells only one thing for sure, launch is close.
OEM gpu's ( china, russia, india )... 370 need to be at minimum at Tonga level....not an old 270 lol.
Another source, who in turn got it from Anandtech (filtered out, it is from Videocard z . c o m): http://***************/55289/amd-radeon-rx-300-series-rebrands-spotted-in-drivers Time to rename my cards again soon.....
Nobody knows nothing, only rumors. Not a single concludent release date. Maybe in April will see a little release, maybe in May or June...
