Feels like invasion of one`s privacy. In a few years having a Facebook account will be
    obligatory.

Facebook need to capture other browsers tabs opened at the same time and figure out that porn is much more profitable :D

[edit] : oh better, buy stolen webcam pics of the girls you know on facebook from facebook!

Pointer hovering an ad on facebook? The only ads I see are those "suggested pages" in my news feed. lol.

You're already considered a backward weirdo if you don't have a facebook account or post a gajillion pics on it! :p

What? Tracking mouse movement on a web page is trivial. Facebook can do anything they want with their page, mouse tracking being one of that.

How much more will it take to convince the users of Farcebook and Twatter that the NSA is funding both, and that Zuckerberg is only a figurehead to allay their suspicions?

everything that is FB and Twitter, or relative to google are already in the way to be less used right now with the NSA and all the american BS...

i guess it isn't a good idea to tell that in this context.

and for myself i don't care, i am banned since years from FB lol

oh really? Facebook and Google already track what you do OFFLINE (and ONLINE) so this new keylogging technology of facebook will be able also soon to track what you do OFFLINE on your computer and where your mouse hovers/Clicks on your screen when you do not look at Facebook for few seconds or minutes.

Thats why I have closed my FB account been 7 months now, never looked back:puke2:

    No doubt facebook hate me.

    I have 3 extensions installed:-

https://adblockplus.org - to get rid of annoying pervasive ads

http://www.ghostery.com - This is by far probably the best extension I have as it highlights and disables any form of tracking on a webpage

http://www.fbpurity.com - Specifically for facebook, blocks, tidies and removes things such as sponsored posts, suggested posts, ads, irrelevant games etc

    ...'software'? Really?

Chances are they're just utilizing onMouseOver in a bit more...'creative' way.
Checking how long a user hovers over an ad or which part of Facebook the user's pointer usually goes to is trivial.
Only takes certain DOM elements and that's all about it.
They don't even need to know the exact coordinates of the mouse pointer, so it's not really a 'mouse keylogger'.

Don't be so surprised about these things.
Even websites with ads now able to know which one of its users block the ads on their pages. =b
