When I put Afterburner to temp-limit 80 or 85, then hit apply - (unlinked to Power Limit which is at 106%)
Then I run FurMark, and after 2-3 minutes the temperature is hitting 90°C
Why does the temp limit do nothing? Does fur-mark override the settings from Afterburner? Or is it something else I havent understood about setting the limit?

I have a EVGA Gtx 780 SC w. acx fans

Edit: woah, I had this problem since yesterday and just now realized the Furmark actually has its own settings for the temperature and overrides Afterburners settings... I thought the furmark was just a graphics tool, and not changing you own custom settings for the overclock...

Sorry to not realizing before posting. :)

You're misunderstanding the meaning of temp limit settings. The limit set to 80 doesn't mean that the card will never reach higher temps. It means that the card will start actively reducing performance when the limit is reached.
