I don't know how this story was missed. I mean, the space/time continuum was practically ruptured with this! http://digg.com/gaming_news/Electronic_Arts_Endorses_Stereoscopic_3D_Gaming_Joins_S3DGA Regards, Enterfrize
Yes, riveting news indeed...:sleep2: It's not like BF2 has been S3D compatible for the last 5 years or anything...
You are thinking too small scale. The compatibility you are thinking of is with NVIDIA stereo drivers, and even then, the compatibility is flawed. EA is after a standard, a means to make sure all games are fully S-3D compatible on all S-3D solutions. This isn't just about PC anymore. XBOX and PS3 is equally up for grabs here. Well...S-3D cinema does make 2:1 to 6:1 revenue compared to 2D theaters, a lot of new HDTVs are coming to market in the new year with "3D Ready" capabilities, and the tech is pretty addictive once you try it. I think these are all good reasons. Regards, Enterfrize
Will it be an open standard or EA specific? EDIT: k, just saw that EA joined a 3D group. Hope they don't ruin the group
i agree, this is pretty big, its only a matter of time before we're using nice compact stereoscopic glasses rather than big ass tv screens/monitors that take up a lot of space at home
I don't feel like using yet another set of glasses. This is useless technology if people have to wear glasses. Maybe this is some sort of trick from opticians to sell über expensive 3D classes for nearsighted people.
lol, well glasses on their own would be no big deal, however if they could detect your head movements they would be awesome, would be like being there in an FPS
Yeah, glasses should be a non-issue. I mean, people wear sunglasses all the time! Regards, Enterfrize
