Default LD Cooling PC-V4 Test Bench log - 05-13-2012, 00:56 | posts: 4,091 | Location: where shrews live

Hi and Welcome to my LD Cooling PC V4 Test Bench build. The idea behind this test bench is for it to look great for one and secondly be http://www.rigmods.com review friendly for future tests. This means water blocks can be moved aside easily for air cooling tests, two water loops for gpu and cpu, a power through the wall meter and most importantly I can pull the motherboard off and switch backplates etc in a matter of minutes so no clutter up top.

LD cooling kindly provided the bench, click on their logo to see their website

Also Crucial sent some Crucial Ballistix elite 8gb 2000mhz sticks

Seasonic Provided the excellent Seasonic X 1250 watt power supply

Lamptron also provided a cool modding kit and white flexlight l.e.d strips.

Thankyou to all manufacturers that contributed to this build. Also would like to mention these company's as I used them in this build and heartily recommend them.

http://www.asus.com for mobo one
http://www.gigabyte.com for mobo 2
http://www.ekwaterblocks.com for 99% of the watercooling parts and http://www.koolance.com for the awesome 90 degree fittings.
http://www.bitfenix.com for the great Alchemy cable extension range
http://www.noctua.at for the radiator fans, astonishing performance for the little sound they make.

Lastly

For providing awesome water cooling parts at great price's, being a forum member there I get free shipping and belive me every penny counts when buying serious water cooling gear, thanks guys!

Here is the bench in its vanilla form, when you recieve it you only need to mount the case feet, fan mounts and switches.

Here is the bottom deck, as you can see very roomy, hdd's go in the back, 5.25 inch bays in the front, can fit a 120.3 rad on each side also, great stuff.

This is one of the case feet I mentioned, very well machined pieces of alloy, infact the whole case is alloy so very light, tips the scales at under 4kg.

These must be fitted when you get the case, the motherboard standoffs are approx 25mm in height, plenty high to pad up your motherboard in Ln2 sessions.

The switches do not come pre sleeved as you can see in one of the pics above, this is a good thing as I like to chose colours, in this case white to match the case.

This here is what I use for all my modding needs, the Lamptron modders tool kit.

I used Allen head bolts to secure the radiators for this build, it matches the cases clean look.

Starting to go full flow into the build, using a EK DCP 4.0 res/pump combo I figured I could have a very compact gpu loop, using the koolance 90 degree fitting with xspc male to male connector I managed a perfect fit from radiator to resevoir.

I thought best to fill the loop first before fitting anything else, there was no need to be so carefull, these fittings rock!

These are the LD Cooling switch cables fitted, as you can see there the wires are still visible through the sleeve, I will be changing to paracord soon for a neater finish.

Lovely shot of the actual switches, they are machined to a very high standard, the switches have a blue led ring as you can see in the next shot

What Ive done here is set up one switch constant blue and the other ring is for hdd activity, handy!

since bottom loop was done I fitted the cpu loop, Phobya resevoir fits very nicely up top.

Even LD coolings badge is nice

The ek waterblock fitted very nicely without issue.

wow nice comments, thank you!

I will get more pictures up within the coming days, try get some better shots of the actual case and quality. One thing I would love to mention this thing is so nice to carry up and down stairs compared to my old xigmatex elysium. Being made out of alloy makes for a very light case.
