Hi, I am having issues getting Windows to recognize my Asus Asus vg248qe as anything but a generic pnp monitor. I went to the Asus website and the only so called driver they have is a Security Catalog that does nothing. There is nothing else for me to download.

Anyone know what I can do?

I also have this issue with my second monitor an Acer H236HL

Do a Windows update. Windows will download a driver for your monitor if you need one.

You need to load up the EDID for your monitor, it comes in the form on an inf file, google for the make and model of your monitor with EDID at the end and you should find the driver then follow this guide..

    To Install the INF.

Extract the contents of the ZIP you just downloaded to some folder.
Open Device Manager by opening your Start Menu (or start screen) and typing “Device Manager,” then press enter.
    Expand the “Monitors” category.
Right click the currently installed monitor under the “Monitors” category and select “Update Driver Software.”
Click “Browse my computer for driver software.”
Click “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.”
Click “Have Disk…” toward the bottom right of the window.
Browse to the location of the INF file you extracted in Step 1, then press OK.
Press “Next,” then “Install This Driver Software Anyway.”
    Reboot!

That should get you sorted :)
