HBAO+ Compatibility Flags Thread

    I don't think so, main issue is how HBAO+ covers hairs, which probably has more to do with how game renders them, then with locked resolution.

    I thought it was possible that HBAO+ didn't play well with Gedosato for this game, so in instances where it is needed to be more precise, it may glitch more. It is a half-baked theory and I don't have the game so I can't test it.

    Btw Bonk, all I'm asking for is a simple comparison with the working flag pre-patch and post-patch to see if there are any differences, not to test all the flags again. Just wanted to make that clear. I'd feel bad if you went and tested all the flags again on my whim lol.

    Hair issue still remains with at least one flag I tested, same with flickering on and off.

    Flickering on the face up close too with both 0x0000000E and F

    So the recommendation remains unfortunately.

    Wish I could say that it would have changed though. The game could benefit from it.

    Medal of Honor (2010) is proving more difficult than need be for a UE3 game, either it only applies on the title screen, glitches out, drops performance or only appears on the weapon when bleeding.

    Insult to Injury, another irritating trend among some UE3 games, masking out certain parts of the rendering or something that results in ugly ass white artifacts

    No surprise. The in game AA didn't seem very good when I tried it out either. *Sigh*

    I couldn't get HBAO+ to work in Killing Floor either. Only one flag provides a semi-working effect, but it bleeds all over in certain maps and areas.

    I've tested a ton of custom flags so far and they've all had the same effects when working as official flags. (Strange buffer bleeding like in Serious Sam), No AO effect but 20% increase in GPU usage,etc.

    0x0000000F is the only flag that provides a semi working effect.

    Ingame AO can't be disabled in Thief.
    "AmbientOcclusion=False" is already set in ThiefEngine.ini by default, but this makes no difference.
    Thief uses ingame HDAO, which can't be disabled.
    It is one of those AMD optimized games ;)

    argh, burnout paradise and it's horrendous ao implementation, this game needs a decent hbao flag :infinity:

    ...due to massive fps drops produced by all compatible flags, hbao is impossible without major performance issues (very similar to NFS hot pursuit 2010 behavior), anyway if you can play at 7~8 fps, flag "20" produces a good effect :bang:

    Thanks will change. And i'll look for Ground Zeroes too, installing now. Hopefully one can be found without issue..

    Ground Zeroes is superb but i found nothing that works with it, also the builtin SSAO looks ok IMO, some haloing as expected, but ok...

    Sorry that I got so ranty, I am a HUGELY passionate Metal Gear fan. It's my favorite game series of all time.

    Old feelings come up when I think about the direction of Ground Zeroes, blatant disrespect for something like Portable Ops just because it's a "Side Story" even though Kojima himself said they couldn't finish writing MGS4 because they had finish Portable Ops first. Pandering to people who hate cutscenes by making most of the story content optional,. I just get too emotional with this **** lol.

    Impossible. Those functions don't have any function for DXGI (DX10+) in the driver. Tried it myself. No effect.
