Well today i just purchased a Mini display port to dvi. I felt that i had missed something so i started to lookaround. It turns out i did. My 5770 doesn't have mini display port, but a normal display port . So my question is can I get a Display port to mini display port connector and add that onto the connector i just bought? Basic Representation: Display port >>> Display port to mini display port >>> Mini display port to dvi (yes it is active) >>> dvi cord to monitor. So will this work? or do i need to just buy a display port to dvi adapter?
Well i decided to cancel my order. I canceled my order. and i decided i might as well buy a display port to dvi (active) instead. i just want to make sure before i purchase this i have everything i need. 3 monitors A stand 3 dvi cables 1 active display adapter to dvi Oh and this is the adapter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004M3K1HS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER Thanks. i figured i should check on here before purchasing anything else. Ive already made 2 bad purchases while setting up this eyefinity. What happened to "plug and play" ? lol
I think you got all necessary. Just choose 3 same monitors. It's better. Don't expect to play at a decent fps rate with such a graphic card. I Did with this board a while ago and i had to lower many settings in every games I played. And moreover, be patient It can be a headache sometimes to set 2 profiles for Eyefinity (for games) and extended setup. Good luck to you it's worth the time spent.
Really? i have two 5770`s running though. I figured that would be more than enough. And i could have sworn they fixed the eyefinity/crossfire bug.
I thought you only had 1. But I had a 6850 that should perform close to 2 5770 I guess and had to lower settings in many games because of dedicated VRAM. With my 7870 and 2GB now I can enjoy games @ 3 * full HD. I see a very noticeable difference between 1 6850 and 7870 now.
According to Gpu Review.com my 5770s are much more powerful than a 6850. and my 5770`s are about 5/7 to 6/7 as powerful as a 7870. But thats just pure statistics, in real world gaming im not sure how it will perform. Im thinking my cards will run into a memory limit though.
2 5770 more powerful than a 6850 I agree. 2 5770 5/7 6/7 as powerful as 7870 is a little bit optimist. You can have a look there : http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/538?vs=548 This graphic comparison is valuable for full HD but as soon as you play Eyefinity setup the difference between 1GB and 2 is important. But don't worry, it will be fine as the gfx will be beautiful even at non max settings.
the two 5770`s are about as powerful as 7870, THEORETICALLY . now in real-world its obviously much better lol. And i wont be playing at 5760 by whatever . I got 3 1680 by 1050 monitors so it shouldn't be too extreme for my setup. 5040 by 3150 has about 5/6`s the amount of pixels a 5760 setup.
