I'll do my best to describe the issue with my laptop.

Whenever I wiggle the power connector to my laptop the system stops charging and won't continue charging until the system is shut down or rebooted. The problem isn't in the connector as much as it is faulty to a point that wiggling the connector around won't help to make the battery start charging again.

There is apparently a component in Windows XP Home that manipulates the battery charging because only after Windows is shut down or restarted will the battery start charging.

What I'm needing is to know the Windows component so I can possibly manipulate or reset it to make the battery start charging again without having to shut the laptop down.

The system is mostly in my sig.

Thanks to all who can provide the answer.
