    Question

Is it possible to have 2 separate sets of SLI/CFX for what ever reason? Any purpose or gains? Like what if i put 2 sets of dual graphics (totallying 8 GPUs on the same system)

Im just curious as ive seen on the web that there are PCI-E expanders to allow more GPUs on one system. A link or any comments will do.

Pardon if this is a repetitive question as i couldnt find much on Google.

I do not believe so. There was a time when you couldn't even do multi-monitor with SLI. Now you can, I believe.

There's no point in running 8 GPUs unless you're running a folding or mining farm. For gaming, you're limited to 4 GPUs maximum in SLI or Crossfire. A C2Q would choke trying to run 8 cards anyway.

4 way sli is the max. Though not all gups are capable of 4 way sli. The 750ti is not even 2 way sli capable. I wouldn't want to run more than 1 gpu on sk775. Those cpus are quite old.

    Oh ignore my PC stats.

Im aiming for a tri 680 SLI on the new haswell refresh.

I have 2 680's spares and would like to recyle them.

So i suppose in any gaming situation one can only have max 4GPU's for gaming purposes?

What about AMD's xfire-less boards 295x? Could you technically have more for gaming?

Thanks for your input guys, Learning is nice

From my experience if you use more monitors across an SLI you can only have it all stuck into the one said card, then youll be able to SLI. (this is what i experience)
