Any recent news on the Titan 2 / X / Whatever?

I see, that makes more sense then. I thought he was running those 2 5970, which would be really painful.

 

I have quite a few GPUs including Titans, 290Xs, GTX 690s, GTX 590s, HD 7970s and yes the HD 5970s but prefer not to put the more recent ones in my signature.

The real point I am making with the 980 v 690 is the Maxwell card can be noticeably faster @1080p then you see the 690 start pulling ahead @1440p and 1600p then finally (if you can find something that will only use 2gb) @4K the 690 is quite a bit ahead.

For me 4K is fantastic as I play strategy games like Civ5 where very high refresh rates don't matter. If I was 30 years younger and a big BF4 fan then I would probably want higher refresh rates.

 

that largely depends on how games scale with sli. There will be some games where the 690 gets destroyed by a 980, and for me, these seem to be the games I tend to play, the quirky PC exclusives where multi gpu scaling isn't great or isn't there at all.

Where sli works well, the 690 will be faster than the 980, of course.

I went from 7950 cfx to a single 970 and I'm happy. btw, you can use DSR to downscale from 4k onto your whatever you have monitor anyway but I'm sure you know that.

I agree about the 970, I was ready to go and buy the 980 on release, then I checked the pricing in the morning of the launch and I couldn't believe it, it was a no brainer.

Who cares about Kaapstad and his Titans, he only came here to gloat. Not so long ago he was recommending people to buy a 690 with 2 Gb of ram until myself corrected him and said it was bad advice cause of lack of vram with consoles looming around the corner.

All his minions backed him up saying I was wrong, this was all on another forum. Just like I was wrong about the .bat file to overclock the 690, I was laughed at and ridiculed until I posted evidence and the thread went quiet. Same thing happened with custom AA flags blah blah blah. Sick to death of people thinking they know everything when they clearly don't. I have a lot of knowledge, more than majority of people here so I don't really give to hoots tbh, ill take it elsewhere.

That's the difference with me compared to other posters, I don't give a **** cause there is much more to life than what we are discussing here.

No, that's the pretty restricted way you view things. I've been without a platform for 2 months and now with X99 I'm back to enjoying gaming and I've been having a blast. Can't ask for more.

Understandable, but old-timers here are getting increasingly hostile to new members. As I said, I remember how I felt when I first started posting.

Technically im till active at the eu #1 guild and main raider, tho i havent spent a single minute playing the past 1 month. But yeah, I will, but im not liking the p2w aspects (to be competitive at a high level at the very least) introduced with this, so I've not made up my mind mid/long term. But yeah, for now / today sure
