Creative Win 8.1 Driver Roadmap

Looks like us SoundBlaster Z owners will have to wait a bit longer for "official" win8.1 supported drivers. But this lists most of the soundlaster line up.

I have not had any problems,so I dont mind waiting.

 

Me neither. Read so much about bad driver support, but for everything worked out without even one hitch.

My XFI HD will get it around end Feb 2014.. It use to be Jan 2014

Z is now end of Dec. It used to be January if I remember correctly.

 

why does it seem like they have 1 person working on the drivers.


what are they doing that takes so long?


tell this people to stop playing solitaire and develop drivers.

 

I's the same with asus, the've released a driver recently for the phoebus (the first in 9 months) and it barely fixes anything.

 

This seems to be the case with all soundcard makers which is why i stuck with creative once again. Tho to be honest the sbz drivers are far better than the ones for my x-fi titanium and i cant say i have run in to any issues with them on 8.1

 

they seemed to have changed the drivers page for the drivers. now saying the current drivers support 8.1........

 

Well they do, no issues here on Win 8.1.

 

Figures they would just tell you to use the old ones after six months

 

CL's Win8.1 drivers are out.

funny they changed the date on the driver page. but the driver version files are the same as the version that was already listed.

I installed those drivers dated 24 December.... but yes, the are still the same version from July... I confirmed it in device manager. So does that mean they haven't uploaded the new ones yet?

 

or they are saying there is no problem with the current drivers.

 

Big Surprise! Now they have mid of Jan scheduled for the Z's and Zx's. That's some pretty "Creative" scheduling isn't it? :3eyes:

 

Why are people getting the panties in a bunch about this? The current drivers are working perfectly with Win 8.1.

 

True, the drivers work just fine for me in 8.1 as well. I guess it's just frustration with a company that continues to be behind the curve when it comes to supporting their current-gen hardware in a timely manner. They're infamous for this and I've come to expect little else from Creative. For me, it's just become laughable.
Plus, I'll be honest here. I just like playing around with new drivers.

 

only problem I have is that when you switch to headphone mode after having speakers set to 5.1 , windows is still set for 5.1



this happens in windows 7 and windows 8
