AMD explain some new features of DX12: Async shaders ( something we have allready speak about ), and mult-threaded buffer recording.

Man considering how Windows sees the module setup with the FX series, AMD must be really excited for DX12!

Even if they werent, I would be. I have been saying that DX12 and Windows 10 was going to be the kind of software AMD was wanting to come out when the bulldozer first came out. Granted now its not going to be helping much so late for those CPU's but it is going to increase performance which is super nice.

The cpu question is not important, the benefit here is for gpu's performance, and this should be traduct on a big leap on games graphic quality.

In a certain way, it leverage a lot the GCN architecture, way more than expected at first.( it is even funny at a certain point, looking all this are part of the design of GCN, why it have not been used quicker ) Async shader can increase the performance for graphic and compute in games by a large ratio.

Same goes for mutlti thread buffer recording, All available CPU cores will now “talk” to the graphics card simultaneously.. this also mean, in conjuction with Async shader that the multiples queues possible on the gpu can be ordered simultaneously by each cpu cores... both in conjunction, you speed up the graphic / compute work by a big ratio... and faster will be the cpu / gpu, higher will be this ratio.

A little precision, most of this will not be enabled fully on DX12_0, but on DX12_1 ....
