Yes, the reference cards seem to mostly do a good job.

How long do we usually wait for 3rd party boards to come out?
I haven't bough a gpu at launch since the 5850 due to the cost increases, but might pick this one up as soon as possible.
My 970 just doesn't cut it for 1080p, let alone 1440p down the road.

I've read that you might have to wait until the end of June.

That's only a few weeks after official launch. No problem

If you've waited that long I supposed it won't harm waiting a little while longer ;)

:infinity:I'm thinking of just hitting up a 980ti and waiting for the 1080ti later. Great thread though the card looks pretty good. I'm not liking some of the benches vs the 980ti and 1080 but drivers should get better with the card.

There's something strange when it comes to 1070GTX benchmarks, in some sites 1070GTX wins with 980ti, in other it's the other way around.

For example here's two examples, where 980ti is clearly a winner

I think you have to count in the early drivers for pascal and probably zero optimations for it's new architecture in current games.
There's probably some thermal throttling aswell.

Sign me up. I am wondering which Vendor to go with. I have it narrowed down to 2. Gigabyte and MSI. I may go with MSI depending on what other cards they are making with the 1070 and if they make a 1070 version of the Sea Hawk card that is.

Is the seahawk or evga hybrid a custom pcb with better power delivery or it's just the reference pcb with hybrid cooler?

Its seems like to me it is based off of the FE Card and I remember seeing in the picture of the 1080 version with only 1 PCI-E power connector and the Gaming Edition has 2 power connectors.

And the GTX 1080 is on average, from what I've been reading, 60% faster than the GTX 980. That means that the GTX 1080 Ti when it comes out should be 50-60% faster than the GTX 980 Ti hopefully then there's the overclocking potential...
