Hello guyz, its been 2 month that i can't decide on a video card, i waited that the 300 series were out, and i saw plenty of bench and they kinda of a letdown compared to the r 200 at their price range. I play at 1080p mostly maybe an upgrade later for 1440 p (with the monitor but not any time soon)

I would want to at least take a card for 3-4 year. (looking for dx 12 too)

    here is my config :
    I72600k
Radeon 5770 HD 1Go (yeah its kinda old)
    8Go ram
    P8h61 motherboard
    SSD & 2 HDD
    Ocz modxstream pro 600w :
    +5v : 25 A
    +3.3v : 25A
    +12V1 : 25A
    +12V2 : 25A
    -12 : 0.3A
    +5vsb : 2.5A -

    I have a budget of max 400 €

Well i was going for a sapphire 290 tri x oc at 280 € (its pretty cheap and i like cheap for the performance wise), then i saw power consumption and well i kinda scared that it will not run on my psu i dont really know some think yes, and other think it will not be very good if i decide to oc it :s
And i thought that with the ramining 120 € i could buy a good psu.

Then i looked at the 390 r9 nitro OC at 355 € and the msi one at 384 € and its the same exact problem as above, psu may not hold it :s

And finnaly i got to the gtx 970 reputed to be the best for 1080p gaming, and it will be cool with my psu even with OC
and here again i struggle between asus strix at 345 € or Gygabite g1 at 390 € because between the two i dont know if the 45 € difference is worth it...

Here is my struggle and it need to end !!! so can you help choose between all those graphic cards that i said especially that dx12 is coming ?

    (sorry for my bad english)

If you want 3-4 years , Go with the 980Ti and find more money. Maybe your PSU will support it. If you prefer AMD you cant go lower than Fury X for 3-4 years.

For minimum, go with a 970 GTX or Radeon 290

I EDITED THIS POST: Ok i checked for you, you have a 42A combined. Thats ENOUGH for Radeon 290 and 290X. They need 33A combine system. it will work.
or Go with a 970 GTX or 980 GTX it will work great too 28A-30A, i like OCZ power supply and i find them stable, but not everyone like them.
if you go 980TI its a risk !! maybe it will work maybe not 42A
Forget the 390 it wont work

Go the 970 with that GPU you have some room for overclocking, not too crazy obviously
