So I have about 3 months left on this card and looking at prices I am flat-out out scared-$700.00 dollars for a Gtx 1080 wow! Now another option would be to go with a Gtx 980 ti and ive seen those as chhep as $250.I also need to upgrade my monitor I am kind of sick of being stuck at 1920x1080 in the year 2016 so option 1 980ti plus a 2160p monitor or option 2 single gtx 1080 and stay with my current monitor?

Monitor I really like -Acer 24 Predator 1920x1080 (jesus christ) 180hz g-sync $399.99 Plus a Evga Gtx 980 ti sc acx 2.0 6gb. Love the way its built and the look itself is just awsome! Not to sure about the resolution tough. Is it worth dropping $400 just for g-sync? Schould I look at something else? :) Or.......

Acer B286HK 4K Uhd-$ 369 ? 3840x2160 but only 60 hz. I feel I will be getting more if I get the 980 ti plus a decent monitor instead of just upgrading to a 1080 and being stuck on a almost 8 year screen. Opinions?:)

Get custom 980Ti & stick with 1080p and DSR the hell out of it. Best of both worlds imo.

2880x1620 DSR is the best, well when gpu has enough power. 4K is too much by very modern games even for a little 1080GTX or bigger Titan XP, well unless you're happy with sub 60fps and somewhat "max" details.

True. But you can always just use it as 144Hz gaming monitor. Still can't believe Nvidia haven't enabled adaptive sync on their drivers.

For example, the nearest comparable G-Sync monitor

So the question is, is a Nvidia badge worth ~$150?

Yeah I figured getting a $ 700 Gpu only to run a $100 dollar monitor is kinda stupid, This way I can upgrade my Gpu and Monitor. Maybe use my Gtx 780 as a Phys-x card?

The whole G-sync thing I have to do more research but to be honest I would not mind having it- I can live without it but would like to see what its all about!

When you've had nothing but problems from any AMD/ATI card you ever owned, yes its worth it.

1070 is a huge upgrade from a 780 but if you can find a good 980Ti for less I would do that.

The only Amd card's I like are the Furx-X but I am not sure how well those compete with the 980 ti, are they faster or slower? I like the fact they are water-cooled and small form factor also. The last Radeon I had was a 6970 its been a while! For a while I was considering the 290x but obviously that time is passed now.

Dont get a Maxwell card, consider only Pascal if going nvidia. Even a 1060 6gb would be an upgrade from 780 if you are on a budget. Kepler GK110 isnt even faster than Tahiti this days.

1070 would be definitely best thing if you can reach for it.

Whats wrong with Maxwell (980 ti) 1070s are in the mid 400s I wanna say? But who knows maybe the price will get better bye the time I have the money in my hand ( 3 months) like I said earlier.

To be honest the performance my Gtx 780 gives at this resolution 1920x1080 I am very happy with it ( not defending it ) just saying....But if I get a better monitor It will more then likely struggle so hence why I said 980 ti. Its stupid to get a Gtx 1080 then run a 1080 p monitor on it isnt it? I like the top-dog cards usually go for the top gpu.But thank you guys for your opinions. Much appricated.

Browsing craigslist today I run into a Mars Gtx 760 x 2 Omg I have always wanted that card, Too bad the guys asking $600 plus for it. I am really into rare Gpu's like that one.
