What Do You Call The Blank Slot Under A Car Radio? that empty space where one may put stuff? i have a car which has this old ass radio and i want to pull it out and replace taht space with the clot thingy. Anyone what what that thing-a-ma-hicky is called?

On a serious note, I believe the term you are looking for is "DIN" There are cars with a single DIN slot and some with a dual DIN slot. Similar to this If you have a dual DIN slot, and want to buy a radio that only fills half the slot, you can buy adapters that turn the second slot into a pocket or a drawer to store other stuff in. Usefull to put your phone or ipod in.
fewer new cars have the empty space blow the radio. because of all the fancy stuff in cars these days. also found out, all it takes is one loose plug and nothing work correctly.
