I have samsung 226BW LCD (22") before that i had a dell 15" and used it for 2 yrs and nothing happened to my eyes but when i got Samsung 226BW my eyes got screwd in almost 8 months and doctor recommended me to get glasses. Do u guys know any good gaming widescreen LCD(17"-20") that is not so f'kin bright and have good ms like 226bw for gaming? Thank You
I have a 941BW 19" 4ms and i love it.It does 1440x900@75hz. When i install new drivers it reverts to 60hz defaults, and when i forget to set it to 75hz i always know because my eyes start hurting. Whatever you get make sure it can do 75hz at the native rez.
mines 60 hz at native rez and no longer hurts my eyes since i properly calibrated the settings. try altering yoru contrast and brightness, make contrast like 10 and brightness at 80 or something and see if it doesnt make your eyes feel more relaxed. it should make you feel like you do when your outside with a bright sun for a bit, then put on sunglasses, how your eyes feel more relaxed. in games, compensate by adjusting the gamma if the games are too dark, but this should help you alot. i think its caused by the lcd being brighter than the ambient light around it. your pupils n all trying to readjust all the time causes stress on your eye muscles, causing fatigue or headaches..just a guess lcd's dont flicker...so not sure how a higher hz helps your eyes. ms is more important than hz for lcd
when i do the color settings of the moniter manually it changes my wallpaper/games colors and/or make them look weird. And than there is that magic bright menu where Text is the Darkest and Gaming one is the brightest. I have it on text but still it disturbs my eyes so ****in badly
Have you tried turning down the brightness? Just about every LCD I used was too bright out of the box, and I had to turn the brightness down from 100% to like 60%. I have used that samsung 22", and also had to turn down the brightness on it. I returned it for other reasons (didn't like the Tn panel), but it had nothing to do with how bright it was.
Try disabling dynamic contrast it "fakes 3000:1 ratio" and use 700:1, also try magictune if u haven't already, i have a 970p without buttons so i have to use this magictune...it has a magiccolor and magicbright(predefined color/brightness profiles) function that enables some features, magiccolor enables even sharper brighter more colorful picture... might wanna look at that setting, and yes lower brightness level to like 70 or lower.
