Think my PSU just blew itself.

Like literally everytime I shut it off and try to reboot nothing powers up. Not even an ounce of light it just acts as if the power button is not connected.

Recently it has also been freezing on me with my new GPU and after the freeze it won't display signal for about 2 hours. Silly thing is I plugged my 6850 in and it didn't get a signal either.

Sounds like a PSU or mobo issue?

take off the jumper pins on the motherboard where the front I/O connects to (the power, reset, power led, etc) are connected on the bottom of the motherboard.

Get a screwdriver and manually glide them across the TWO power on pins (do not touch the others.

You may get a slight spark from this but it should power on the PC if the PSU is fine that is, as it could just be the front I/O panel is knackered.

I did this and it did not work. The PSU did not power up.

I then tried again 2 hours later and it did work.

I think i'm just gonna RMA it.

Send an email to cooler master and they said I can send it in and they'll check whats wrong with it.

Maybe overloaded / overheated and cut out, needed time to reset

With my 7950 overclocked to current clocks it holds just fine in a 3 hour gaming session of Skyrim.

    Fan still working in it?

Obviously something isn't 'holding just fine' if it died for 2 hours

if you did the paperclip test then its more than likely the PSU.

Have you tried a different cable plug? You never know the cable or fuse might be the problem?

Is the fan working on the PSU? That could of died and the PSU could be overheating...

Fan works, different plug doesn't change a thing. :(

Can you RMA or is it out of warranty?

If the fan is spinning up there's a chance it could be the motherboard. Any chance you can test the PSU in another unit, or use a spare one in yours? It doesn't need to be particularly great, just enough to boot from. Still, from the sounds of it, it's most likely the PSU -- probably overheating. Best to cover your bases though.

I have no other PSU to test, if its not the PSU i'll rma the motherboard right after it.

Sounds more like a MB problem to me. If I were you and didn't have another psu to test, I'd go buy one at a local shop with a good return policy and buy it.

No point in doing needless rma's. Figure out where the fault is and return only that piece.

If you're near Utrecht I could lend you a PSU...

Well i'm in swalmen which is pretty far away.

It seems to do work again now but i'm gonna send the psu away anyway. If I get it back and it still has the same issues i'll send the motherboard back.
