I've downloaded RivaTuner. Is there a guide on how to use it? There are alot of things I do not understand...like mipmapping, blitting! What the heck do these things mean? Can anyone tell me the things I should adjust for my system...?
Pentium 2 350
128meg ram
Win98
Elsa GeForce2MX 32megs.
(I know, I know, Processor and Mobo are obsolete...can't afford to upgrade yet!)

This message was edited by Chum on 30 Jul 2001 07:29 PM

This message was edited by Chum on 30 Jul 2001 07:39 PM
No there's no manual or help for the items yet. Riva Tuner is in the beta test stage and we're the guinnea pigs. Moreover, until Riva Tuner final is released, no manual will be available to prevent unauthorized clones from appearing to steal Unwinder's thunder.

Anyway, this link should be a good starting point for a newbie and deals with what it is that video cards do. Perhaps armed with that knowledge, you can make edgermicrated guesses or WAG's as they're known by geeks in the know about what to tweak:

http://www.3dgaming.com/fps/techshop/glossary/

Hope that helps some.

OK, I've looked at the link...still a little confused! Is "the only way to test these tweaks to try one, then run a benchmark, note scores, try another...and so on? Someone must know the ones to tweak
first. I just want the best performence for my card without overclocking.
And i'm not meaning spelling errors here. It's hard to understand your post.
If you were trying to say that in order to get best performance you should disable usermipmaps You are WRONG. Doing that will hurt performance.
