    Alright so I really want a Plasma because I think they just look better, but all the plasmas I was looking at turned out to all be 720p and I am going to be playing it on my X-Box 360 and from what I understand I need 1080i
    For PS3 I need 1080p correct?
    What is the difference, is it just resolution and thats it?
    All of those Plasmas I was looking at like the Panasonic TH-42PX75U for $1099.00 were awesome its just they were 720p..
    some of the ones below can go to 1080i and 720p as well.. can someone explain to me what its all about?

    Also Ill be mostly gaming on this TV, I have heard that plasma's have burn-in but there is a new technology that helps out a lot with it and I asked about the warranty if it covered burn-in and it does so I am not "too" worried about it now. What are your thoughts on this?

    Please list any other TVs 42 Inch only please.

    I have the Regza 42HL67 (not the HL167...basically yours does 1080p natively and mine downscales but still accepts 1080p).

    I think it's a killer TV. I was surfing for budget 1080p panels at the time and this one just blew them out of the way.

    It's the mainstay piece of my home theater PC unit. :)

    1080p is overrated. 720p looks fine as long as you're not sitting right on top of the screen...and even at that you better be looking carefully to spot the differences.

    720p = 1280x720 resolution
    1080p = 1920x1080 resolution

    No you don't need 1080p but it's nice to have. :cool:

    1080i is pretty much the same as 720p. same quality. HDTV cable is broadcast in 1080i theres nothing in 10080p yet so dont bother. 1080p is for bluray players and ps3 atm. 720p is enough for what ure using it for.
