Tried AHCI and it bluescreens and reboots. I have changed the registry to enable ahci to no avail.

If I use RST 10.8.0.1003 everything works fine.

What gives?
Managed to get it working, had to upgrade the firmware on my Vertex2 SSD.

Hi all.

May I ask what might a simple question? Where are you guys getting the RST RAID drivers (11.5.0.1207 WHQL) from? When I d/l them from Intel I get the AHCI version (iaStorA.sys, iaStorF.sys, etc), not the RAID (iaStor.sys) ones. What am I doing wrong?

Do I need to update my RAID ROM? If so, how do I do that?

Thanks for the help!
Cheers

Just download them, go to device manager, go to update and where you have to browse to the folder, and at some point you will see have disk, you click that, click intel raid controller, browse to the raid floppy folder, and choose the iastor one.

Thanks Agent-A01.

I think what threw me was that in past versions I didn't need to do "have disk" bit. It seems that the files have changed names so maybe that's the reason.

Anyways it's sort now.

Cheers

These perform better for my Corsair Force GT RAID0 setup by about 12-20 megs more in Bench32 on a 1 gig run. I'm getting around 1087 meg transfers now, compared to 1050-1070ish on the last set. I "should" be pulling around 1110 megs according to specs, but this is the closest I've seen to that.

RST keeps getting better on this end.

Make sure to have latest 12.5 raid rom for trim functionality, also some improvements. Also slight improvement in reads.

The older 12.5.0 were pulled, this new whql was never added to intels site.

Ahh yeah, I checked to see if TRIM is running and it is. The Corsair Force GT's actually can do this on a hardware level.

I got - DisableDeleteNotify = 0 (Windows TRIM commands are enabled) in return. So I actually didn't have to update the RAID ROM.

Others definitely will if their SSD's cant do TRIM on a hardware level though.

These only work for me with AHCI in the Bios, When I use RAID which I have to for my Radi0 games drive, I get stuck on Windows logo during boot.

Back to 11.2.0.1006 which work fine in RAID mode.

having disable delete notify saying trim is enabled, it doesnt actually mean its working. someone did a test with these sets of whql and trim only worked with the latest rom. to rephrase, trim isnt actually being used by the drives, just the os has it enabled.

also, im using 2 agility 3s which is the same sandforce controller, so you would not get trim on those drives without latest raid rom. garbage collection is run on the controller itself, not trim.

First I did the setup way.

Then I did a system restore and tried the device manager way selecting my own driver from disk. Made no difference, there seems to be no Raid driver in these? I tried under AHCI but it still only boots 1st time because it is using MS driver on first boot. Then it does the driver update to Intel RST taking drives off and back on and I have to reboot, then it wont boot under AHCI on 2nd boot either.

Weird, 11.2.0.1006 working no problem.

I'm banging my head, spent half day trying to get this **** to work but just cant figure out wtf is wrong. I think it is having a problem with my RAID0 games drive yet all the older drivers 11.2 and before work perfectly fine.

I give up. Sticking with 11.2.0.1006 for now.
