    Hi Everyone :D (again)
So my partner has decided to upgrade from what he's running atm, to put it down he's got:
    CPU: i5 2500k
    GPU: MSI 560ti
    Case: Antec 300
Motherboard: Asus p8p67-m pro (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2011/06/15/asus-p8p67-m-pro-review/) <<couldn't find it many places
    PSU: Corsair CX 600
He got all this late 2010 ( i think)
Was just wondering what to upgrade. He wanted a new GPU, but am i right in saying that he would need a new CPU/motherboard? Also maybe a SSD to go with it if it can be squeezed in.
One last thing, if his OS is currently installed on the hd, and he wanted to put it on a SSD. How would you go about doing this, format and just reinstall with the same product key?
Budget is £600 for any upgrades.
(he would also like new fans for the case, but someone told me what to get in my separate thread so that's all good)
I think he's a bit of an Nvidia fanboy, or at least trusts them more than ATI, so i think he's going to maybe wait till the new series comes out to see if he can get a 670, but i'm trying to give him more options to consider, and i know you guys are good at persuading people :D
So many questions! Sry but ty in advance :D

    - i will say the term:

    REAL SPEED MISMATCH

I think he wants the change because the new games that he's playing like DFUW doesn't seem to like his setup atm, and the newer games don't seem to run that well on it, was just wandering what he could do to upgrade it

I went from a 560 Ti to a 7950, pretty much a double in performance right there with both OCed also you won't need a new motherboard or processor with any card. SSDs are also amazing, getting one for the os will be a big upgrade, i would never build a system without one again.

    Gl :)

    The fact that it doesn't have a PCI-e 3.0 slot doesn't matter? :D

    Not at all.
Same as you can plug a USB3 device into a USB2 port.

Not quite the same though, since a USB3 device's speed suffers immensely when limited to USB2 bandwidth, while PCIe 3.0 devices work pretty much at full speed in PCIe 2.0 mode.

This is awesome news, means he can keep his 2500k etc, although he's got 4gb of RAM, i said maybe to upgrade this to 8gb? Apart from that he would wait for the chipset after Haswell to come out like me :D

Nobody mentioned speed so what's your point? I only said Gen3 devices are compatible Gen2 slots the same as USB3/2.

Anyway you're on my ignore list so I shouldn't even be seeing your posts...

My point is right there in my post, I'm sure you have the ability to read it. I wasn't arguing :)
