Tomorrow i buy the new cpu, for a 3570K working at 4.200 mhz and 24/7 wich one is better, considering i´ll never do a SLI or Crossfire

    Asus P8Z77-V LK

    MSI Z77A-G45

I never use a M.B. MSI, are they good enough?

What i know is that with msi is easier to oc told me a friend

The Asus is more difficult to overclock?

How many phases have the MSI?

Asus boards are easy to overclock with.

Unless you're going for world-record overclocks, number of phases are of little importance. 4 phases will easily get you to 4.2ghz.

Go for the Asus, the build quality is better than the MSI. Overclocking is pretty simple, and if you're worried theres tons of guides on how to OC using the Asus UEFI.

I have always found MSI to be very reliable, I have never had one not post or go bad on any of my builds including my latest MSI board....Just sold my old X58 MSI board that has been rock solid for close to 4 Years to a fellow employee...

Got this for my gf :

    MSI Z77A-GD55

    Great so far.

And it avoids all the useless/wasted PCI slots - so the board can later be recycled as a file server or something with a bunch of HBAs in it.

What's with the blinding charts? Trying to show how poor MSI products really are?

I just bought an MSI in my sig. I had the AsRock z77 extreme3 and it was faster then the MSI, but not by much. The board had a defective pci-e slot so I sent it back to newegg and needed a board right away so I bought the MSI. I'm not disappointed with the MSI. It seems to be a quality board for the price range. Asus always makes over the top quality products and I have had great luck with them.

AsRock...speed and bios is really sweet, but the board is thin and the extreme 3 is about an inch narrower so the right holes are missing. Not a big deal but board can flex.

MSI. excellent quality but not as fast as it could be. Full size atx

The above boards are in the $120.00 to $150.00 range so I can't answer for the higher end ones.

ASUS: I don't own one of the newer boards but you can't go wrong with an Asus build.

Spend the little extra... go with the ASUS.

Come to think of it i've seem mobo failures from all the brands over the years. But i've seen a lot more of dead MSI's then others. Just from my own experiences... i would really go with the ASUS.

From my experience, stay away from ASUS. Go with ASRock or Gigabyte. MSI is ok too. Don't have recent experience with ECS, Biostar, Yetway, etc, so can't tell anything about them.

  20. Can't speak for everyone, but personally I've had great results with MSI. I'd been buying ASRock motherboards for years and couldn't be happier than I am now with MSI. Their product quality is excellent; customer service is decent, not great, but decent. Unfortunately I can't comment on them as a longstanding customer as I've only been purchasing MSI products within the last year or so. In regards to the two boards in question, you won't go wrong with either one, both are well-reviewed quality boards and I'd say it's only a question of which is cheaper. In regards to overclocking, I'd say both would serve you well; in my experience with the X79 chipset, I've used an Intel BOXDX79TO, an ASRock X79 Extreme4, an ASUS Sabertooth X79 and now a MSI X79A-GD45 (8D). Of all of them the MSI board has been the easiest to overclock *took the least amount of time to fine-tune* its BIOS is very user-friendly and so far I've had no problematic issues at all.
