Default Not able to OC with CCC 12.6 - 07-11-2012, 02:12 | posts: 9 | Location: UK, England

Since the 12.6 driver update my GPU (sapphire 6950 with unlocked shaders) has not been able to change voltage in MSI afterburner or Sapphire trixx.

Now i know i sound like a complete noob but i have tried almost everything that has been suggested on other forums and nothing seems to work for me.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.

Have you tried placing the Atipdlxx.dll and the atipl64.dll from a previous driver release into the program directory and then see if they work?

Last driver release that I was able to pull those files from was the Jan 04 2012 8_95 Betas. Since then, AMD has not included those files in their drivers and they are (were) needed for the programs to interface with AMD hardware.

I say were, becuase I think the newest Sapphire Trixx (4.3 Release) is able to OC without that required DLL file(s).

Also, with Afterburn you apparently need to do a little more with the newer drivers in order to get the clocks and voltage to work quite right (Again, because AMD changed up the driver interface).

This link had some info on what someone did to get it to work:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1274696/a...erience-thread

I was able to OC my 7950 with the Sapphire Trixx Ver 4.3 with 12.7 Official Betas and all my voltages and clocks stuck and worked. I just had the grey screen of death with the Betas whether I overclock or not

Good Luck,
Bats

you only need those 2 files, not the whole install

put a copy of each in windows/system32, and syswow64 (if your using 64bit windows)

if you search around on this board, you should find a link to someone whos shared them.

I have version 4.3 of trixx but it still does'nt let me change the voltage, well it does but its not like it was before it says 'board power Li'? and i can only go from 0 to -20 to 20

Also i have found one of the .dll files but i cant find the 'atipl64.dll' one?

I have tried putting the files in the folders but i got nothing, i have tried edeting the registory, i have tried AMD overdrive but it only goes up to 1.55v and i was hopeing to go higher. i have changed MSI AB to have higher clocks and disable ULPS in the configs and allow unofficial overclocks ect.

So i really am stuck with what to do.

dont use unoffical, its wonky.

make sure you disable Disable unofficial mode, and start AB with the -xcl option and reboot.

This is official mode and will expand both AB limits, and CCC limits.

i just tried overclocking to 900mhz and set the 'board power Li' to 20. It seems stable but i'll have to leave it on unigen for abit.

nope it crashes when playing JC2 and is buggy when it starts up.

And it didnt work ^^^

Umm, I think you are not fully using the Trixx software.

On the rightt hand side there is a grey colored bar. It is the scroll bar, it just doesn't look very scrolly Grab it with the mouse and pull down.

You will see it scroll the main interface down and below the the Board Power Li(mits) is the VDDC setting that will allow you to add voltage to your overclock.
