the 3570k @ 4.5 (an easy OC) will blast a stock 3770 outta the water, everything else seems fine. The 670s are better if you have the money.

    for music production and gaming

and im not good with this oc thing..i've never done anything like this before and it's gonna stay that way haha so with no oc..i7 3770 is better?

The i5 3570K performs identical to the i7 3770 in games. No need for OC'ing as neither will bottleneck current single GPU video cards.

If you go with the i5 you can put more money into a better video card (HD 7950 / HD 7970 / GTX 670)...

You may as well get a regular 3570 if you aren't OC'ing...The K version just has an unlocked multiplier allowing more room for OC'ing.

that's just terribly put together. I'm sorry.

    1. ditch the 3770k for 3450 or 3470 if you don't plan on overclocking. I would still get a 3570k because you will want to overclock, most likely.

    2. H61 chipset? come on. get a decent z77 board

    3. money saved on the cpu can be added to buy a better gpu, gtx 660 is meh, a gtx 660ti/gtx 670 would be better, or even better than those 2, get a hd 7950, overclock it and you're laughing.

i dont have enough money for that,if im taking the 3570k im saving some money thats for sure but even if im taking with it the 660ti i need to spend more money than i expected because its expensive

lets talk about the motherboard..you're talking about taking the Asus P8Z77-V?

how much is the gtx 660ti and hd 7950 where you live? because the price difference shouldn't be much. hd 7950 will outperform the gtx 660ti plus you get games with it.

Dont take this advice if you play Far Cry 3 or Crysis 3, or want to max many future games, just sayin'.

it doesn't matter..we dont pay in dollars or euro so it's hard to explain but the thing is that it's expensive..and it's more than i can spend so im gonna stay with the 660 gtx.

im planning to play far cry 3 , crysis 3 so the i7 is a better choise?

i can't get the i7 and the asus p8z77 too becuase i dont have enough money.

it would be that bad if i will stay with the same specs that i wrote in the beginning?

    it'd take 3570k over 3770 any day. also a z77 board and at least a gtx 660ti.

natukiss, you are better off spending the money now, and getting the z77 board and a better GPU, then in 2 odd years time your computer will feel like it under performs.

If you do get the 3570K, and a decent cooler which doesnt cose much either, a simple youtube video will show you exactly how to OC. if you ever wanted to.

thats how I see it anyway.

Get a 3570k and z77 board. Use onboard if you have to till you can afford a 7950. Never settle for hardware that has less performance per $ just because you don't have the money, waiting till you can get the best performance per $ parts is always cheapest in the long term.

Can't split the main PCIe x16 lane or overclock the CPU on H77 chipset.

An i5 should be plenty....i7 is overkill for gaming. i5 & 7950 is a good combo imho.... Or AMD is another option depending on price....
